Summary: This documentary documented by Issac Goeckeritz focuses on a group of individuals upon leaving the US Military having difficulties with whether it is transitioning back into normal life, overcoming drug habits, or having mental behavior patterns. Goeckeritz goes around talking to multiple individuals focusing on what reasons have come into effect in why there as so many homeless veterans and the problems that may be triggering these skyrocketing numbers. This film was made to just get a general idea of why there are so many problems among veterans and what triggered these problems or to interview those who have made it out of the struggle and how they were able to accomplish this feat. This film clearly illustrates the effects of leaving the service, the triggers that individuals deal with daily, and the emotions that are happening as they try to figure out how to be better one day at a time. This is a rising problem and as talked about in the documentary giving up is such an easy solution, but if the necessary help could be provided that change could ultimately happen.

Summary: This short poem, in effect, focuses on the day-to-day struggles one may go through living on the streets with no one to turn to. Cold nights, little clothing, and and even being frowned upon by the community. This poem demonstrates one's typical situation daily and, in turn, shows that although it is already a cold world when you're by yourself, times can get even harder with no morale support or even a simple hey. Being homeless I can imagine is hard enough as it is, but being walked by as if you're a nobody could make things even more challenging.

Summary: In this photo taken at Woodland Park in Seattle, Washington, you see how the increasing homeless population has taken its toll and has expanded to areas in which families used to gather and have a good time. Now, it has emerged as a go-to spot where the homeless lay their heads at night due to the population increasing throughout the city streets. This picture illustrates that although the city has camps and shelters, there is not enough attention being paid to this situation and how they can help the homeless rather than shun them and let them overpopulate once popular areas for the locals, which now are not an attraction to go to.

Summary: This informational post shows statistics gathered on homelessness and one of the reasons why it is a trend of substance abuse along with mental health and why it is so hard for them to break through and turn their lives around. As you can see they deal with a variety of issues that hinder their decision-making as they in essence are deemed nonessential to many and cope with the walls caving in on them by abusing drugs and or alcohol. This writing illustrates what the homeless deal with and that change can be made to help out our fellow Americans, but change can not happen unless one helps another. There is treatment facilities, but this instantly breaks down and is an afterthought as many can not afford to get the proper treatment necessary in order to make a change for the good.

Summary: This publishing by the associated press starts off by stating that hotels and motels would no longer be a viable option for the homeless population moving forward in 2025-2026, but effectively, it is a change being made to try and protect the homeless families by trying to support them and provide them with permanent housing for some time. This illustrates that change can be made for the good, and although it may be a process that takes some time and not even one that some may agree with it if this method effectively works, homeless people have a chance at a positive outlook and have the support of the state of Massachusetts.
