Although crying remains a primary mode for communicating more complex communication skills are beginning to emerge; different crying patterns are used to express distinct needs. At this stage when the baby cries tears are shown, and eyes begin to move together. They are now able to grab objects using their entire hands however, strength is insufficient to hold onto items for long. The child can hold his head steady for longer when on his tummy or when upright. The hearing improves drastically.
