Group Members: Whole Group

3) Value: What does this audience value most when it comes to this topic?
Overarching theme: relationships and trust so important.
DH: Transparency and honesty. Audience needs to know how we got here.
AB: Humility. Be able to say "I was wrong", apologize, and do better. Take ownership. Ask questions. Be curious.
MT: Awareness and caution with imbalance of power.
CG: Shared Leadership. It shouldn't always be the same people speaking, facilitating and representing. Intentionally mixing it up and hearing different voices and lenses.
KL: Need to be clear about what the structure REALLY is right now, even if it's not pretty or great. Then we can make changes as needed.
Direct quote from chat: "It's important to reveal the structure that exists because we're often resistant to writing down what the structure it looks like "right now" because we know it's not perfect and it opens us up to further criticism and scrutiny. A lack of clarity doesn't reveal all the present challenges. Where revealing the structure from the beginning and how it evolves over time could offer opportunities for a variety of people to offer suggestions for change."

4) Concerns: What is the audiences' greatest concern when it comes to this topic?
MM: Thinking back to past documents we have published... Do I see myself represented there? Do I see my family, my kids, etc.? Publications are often skewed toward dominant culture.
AB: Graphs, data, and numbers can also be triggering to certain communities.

Who are your partners?
KL: should be who we're accountable to. Staff who work in programs, families that experience them, children who are served, etc.

2) Purpose: Why is it important to communicate with this audience?
BO: Importance is knowing it exists.
DH: Gives power to those working in EL/ECE. Is a document written by communities and can help when asking for needs.
KL: A space to engage people who are actually experiencing the system. People feel like when the state makes a decision they do that based on what is available and convenient, not necessarily what works for all. Create space for folx to engage in the conversation around each piece. Want folx to feel and know "That space is for me."
MJ: We need to mentor and love these children when they are little. That can be life changing!

Who are your partners?
parents, providers, child welfare case workers; really everyone at DCYF should be aware of the ELCP, ESIT, ECEAP

2) Purpose: Why is it important to communicate with this audience?
It elevates the importance of the work. Having more people aware creates more opportunities to have conversations about families' needs. If community partners are aware, then we hope to increase access to services. Also, thinking of how to make connections with the ELCP to the work we're doing in our projects, so we can advocate for sustainability
