He spent four days in this city, and he slept in a hotel.
In the third day the family  Lambchop went in the morning to Ostia Antica, a little city near Rome, and visited the ancient Roman monuments.
In the afternoon when the family returned to the hotel didn't have the key to open the room because they had forgotten it in the apartment , so Mr Lambchop asked the reception how to do it, but they also didn't know what to do; Stanley had a brilliant idea: rather to let he pass under the crack of the door, the father helped his flat son and and eventually he managed to enter the room and opened the door with the key]]> 2021-04-09 12:46:51 UTC https://padlet.com/chisab72/b4k69i128bi1/wish/1399658691 https://padlet.com/chisab72/b4k69i128bi1/wish/1399672171 On a summer's day Stanley went to a beach near his town. He was very excited because that was his first summer's vacation.
When he just touched the water of the sea he started to love that.
Some minutes after swam a little boy went near Stanley because he never saw a flat boy.
After some seconds they started talking and told something about themselves. They loved a lot of same things like the sea or play videogames.
After that the boy called John asked him to be his personal surfboard.
Immediatly Stanley accepted and they became friends. 
Right now, all the time they play together videogames and boardgames and during the summer they surf on very high waves.
Stanley's brother doesn't like John but Stanley doesn't care.
The flat boy never found a person like John and they are going to be best friends forever.

- The kids need fresh air, dear! They can't just seat on the couch watching TV. - said Mrs Lambchop.
- You're right! - said Mr Lambchop, nodding.
That day, in the afternoon, they told Arthur and Stanley the good news. The boys were very sad and they didn't want to leave their house.
- How can we watch TV, if we're not at home?!? - said Arthur, complaining.
- And how can we play videogames??? - said Stanley. 
But their parents didn't want to hear replies so Arthur and Stanley had to prepare their things and put them in bags.
- I think that Mum and Dad don't understand us. We need to stay home! - said Stanley angrily.
- This is a dumb idea. I don't want to go on a trip. - replied Arthur.
- Me neither! But unfortunately we have to go... - sobbed Stanley.
The next morning they were near their parents, in front of the car.
- Come on guys! We're leaving! - shouted Mr Lambchop.
When they arrived the boys were still angry.  Mr and Mrs Lambchop chose a beautiful hotel, with a big pool.
The next day the family went to the pool. After a few minutes Mrs and Mr Lambchop went to the bar for breakfast, because Arthur and Stanley wanted to stay in the pool.
A boy came and he started talking with Arthur. They played and joked while they were in the water. Arthur didn't seem angry anymore! Stanley was very bored. He just wanted to go back home.
In the afternoon, while their parents were taking a nap and Arthur was playing with the boy, Stanley decided to go to the pool again. 
He couldn't believe it!!! Near the pool there was a family...and they were all flat like him! The mother and the father were flat, the kids were flat and there was even a little flat dog. The boy of the flat family seemed very kind. 
Stanley wanted to talk with them but he was ashamed.
Then a little flat girl saw him and she told him to stay with her family. The boy had the same age as Stanley, he and his little sister were very nice and they played together for the rest of the day. Even their parents were kind and they invited Stanley to have dinner with them. Stanley had to refuse; he couldn't wait to tell his family about that meeting.
During the following days Stanley's family and the flat family met and they became friends! At the end of the holiday the two families had a big dinner. Everybody was very sad, especially Stanley because before that moment he didn't ever meet flat people like him. 
- I hope we are seeing each other very soon! - said Stanley the next morning, while his parents were about to go. 
- This is our address! Come visit us or write us a letter. - said the boy of the flat family.
When he went back home Stanley started to write letters to that kind family and during the next summer he and his family visited their house.

Arthur bumped into Stanley and the flat guy regained consciousness.
-What's wrong?- asked Arthur a bit worried -Look!-  replied Stanley excited pointing at a piece of paper on the wall.
-Come at the new zoo of the city- Arthur began reading -All kinds of animals are waiting for you! Giraffes, Elephants, Lions and even exotic animals such as axolotl or poisonous frogs!- the brothers looked into each other's eyes with a happy face and they immediately ran to their house.
They got into the house as fast as possible and they went into their living room, where their mother was waiting for them to return.
-Mom!- began Stanley -We just discovered that a new zoo has opened! We must visit it today, please!- Mrs Lambchop stopped thinking for a bit and, when she finally spoke she said:-Don't worry, the zoo's not running away, we will visit it today but, before, you must give me what i asked you to buy and, after that, we will have a little snack- -Mom, you're the best!- said both the children.
After a slice of bread with butter and jam the children where ready to go to the zoo, they put on their shoes and they began walking.
When they finally got there the two boys couldn't believe their eyes: the zoo was huge and it was full of strange animals they had never seen before: there were strange luminescent fishes, colourful snakes, squirrels that could fly, and strange reptiles with lots of teeth.
They both looked around with eyes full of joy while running in front of every animal cage.
At first everything was going well: the two boys were having fun and their mum was smiling knowing that they were happy, but the trouble began when the wind rose up...
Suddenly Stanley began to fly and, as soon as the wind calmed down, he fell in a cage.
He got up a bit confused, he looked around and he made a terrible discover: he was in the cage of the lions!
-Help, mum!- he shouted while he was running away from the three animals.
-Don't worry! I called the staff, they'll get here soon!-
Mrs Lambchop was very scared, and Stanley too was really afraid of lions, until, somehow, he managed to climb on a tree that was inside the cage.
From there he could have glided until he was outside the cage, but he thought that the lions could have jumped, then he remembered he had some food in his bag that his mom prepared him, he threw it away to lure the beasts and he managed to get away!
After that his mom and brother hugged him until they were tired.
-I was really, really scared told him Mrs Lambchop, you could have died!- After that, she hugged him again and they all went home to have dinner and to tell Mr Lambchop their amazing adventure!
