We have arranged return transport from University of Bedfordshire (Luton Campus), leaving at 08:45 AM. We will aim to be back in Luton no later than 5:00 PM. Further transportation instructions will be provided to confirmed guests closer to the time.

This is the 14^th year of these festivals which previously took place in Brockenhurst in 2009, Kirkby Lonsdale in 2010 and 2011, Chichester in 2010-2019,2022,2023 Windermere 2012,2014-2017, Kendal 2013 and Oswestry in 2012 and 2013. We want to recruit Event Management, Sports Studies students and Referees for paid work experience at our Mini and Youth Rugby Festival in Chichester, West Sussex.

The International Mini and Youth Rugby Event Manager Job Description and person specification is available to download from our website. These documents can be used to pin up on notice boards or to forward to your new students.

For the Chichester, West Sussex event the set up is over 2 days Thursday 2^nd May  and Friday 3^rd May 2024. Ideally we would like students who can do all 4 days (2 set up and 2 event days) but must do at least three days (Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 May 2024).

For students who live more than 15 miles from the venue we normally provide some form of accommodation which is normally self-catering accommodation.

The dates and venue for the event is as follows:-

Saturday 4 May  and Sunday 5 May 2024  Venue: Chichester, West Sussex (PO19 1SB)

The attendees at these events are made up of players aged 7 to 14 years old and the remainder are their parents, both Mums and Dads. They will be at the venue from 10.00am until 5.00pm on both days of the event. They will be accommodated in the area of the event. More information is available at www.internationalminirugby.com.

Ideally, we would like your students available from 09.30am on the set up days until 5.00pm over the event days available from 08.30am until 6.00pm latest.

In the 2024 events students will be :-

1.       Paid £320 for working the four days.

2.       We provide them with a warm hoodie and a t-shirt.

3.       We provide those in accommodation with breakfast and all are provided with lunch on 4 days and dinner on all days except Sunday.

We would hope that in 2024, we can provide the same benefits for working at the International Mini & Youth Rugby Series.

Small groups of students from each university will design and implement impactful projects addressing sustainability challenges relating to their university and local community.

The Project:

Title - Wellbeing, Cultural diversity and Educational Transitions: developing a resource pack for International Students

Description - This will involve students developing a resource pack, including a video, to support future (international) students settle into their student life in the UK. It will seek to surface key challenges and the approaches that students have adopted to overcome some of the cultural and education barriers that they have encountered.

We are Torak Productions, a festival production company that works with some of the biggest and best festivals in the UK. Every year we look for freelancers and volunteers to join our incredible team to help us provide excellence in production, stage management and artist liaison. Our volunteer scheme helps people with little experience get their foot into the door of the festival industry. If they show willing and are keen to progress, we put them into our volunteer scheme where they will be put into paid roles after adequate training and guidance is given by their stage managers.
