This film follows Mima Kirigoe, a member of a popular japanese group, as she leaves her pop group to fulfill being an actress. Many fans are upset by this, but one fan takes it to the next level and begins stalking the star. With directions contained in a letter from a fan, she finds a website called “Mima’s Room” and it contains diary entries in her perspective which has her thoughts and life in exact writing which evidently scares her… but her agent advised her to just forget about it anyways. This anime is about a junior high student named Lain Iwakura, she has a family containing her sister Mika who’s unable to express herself, her emotionally unavailable mother, and her way too tech savy tech obsessed father. Lain’s life takes a turn when girls from school start receiving emails from a dead student by the name of Chisa Yomoda and finds she received one herself, entailing that Chisa is not indeed dead but abandoned her physical body and is in connection with god himself.
