Grants don't normally include child care or elderly care support, which might make it difficult for researchers who are carers to undertake travel, e.g. for project meetings, conferences, and networking. Thus, they might miss out on other opportunities. Those who are more flexible continue to be able to take advantage of these opportunities. More hybrid events could help address this, as well as budget allowances to explicitly support child/elderly care as part of travel expenses.

In Sri Lanka the divisions are mainly based on religion and language. Therefore the concept/ mechanisms should be initiated to limit these major divisions.

With the women (esp those married with children) faced multiple burdens at home and at work. The pandemic has exacerbated women's multiple burden by providing more unpaid carework to their families (household mgt and caring for the sick etc), thereby reducing their time for productive work, moreso with research opportunities.

Many management team can be from female, no limit or condition to discriminate this.

First, organizations must comply with international and national mandates/ policies supporting women employees. For ex in the Philippines, there is the Magna Carta of Women which stipulates laws referring to Filipino women's human rights. human resource must introduce proactive measures to comply with these laws. Organizational leadership should also explicitly issue a policy in support to its women employees. appoint deserving women in strategic positions where major decisions aare made.
