       Markus Zusak' s novel" The Book Thief" opens exceptionally with an interesting narrator who turns out to be death.It tells the touching story of a little girl named Liesel Meminger who suffers from the death of her brother and seperation from her mother and is taken to her new foster parents .The book is titled as book thief because in the beginning of her journey she steals a book named ,"The Grave Diggers Handbook" even though  she does not know how to read.And from her foster parents she learns how to read .The background of the story is taking place in Germany in the time of world war 2.And how among all this war and chaos she  finds the time to read ,expressing her love for books and words .And how she finds her inner  PEACE by reading books.
In the book death is not depicted as a scary thing.
Death is not exploited for the readers to sympathise, however turns out to be the kindest and realistic character in the text .To me Death overshadows the inevitable fact of dying and yet focuses  on the aspect of living.Death grieves and sympathises for the souls of those whom he had to collect and how he is doomed to do this task for eternity .After understanding his character,I was able to appreciate more of death .

I admired most of all Zusak' s characters,but especially 'Hans  Humberman' as  he directly challenged me to do what's right .He is a fatherly figure I appreciated in the story.and despite the challenges of fighting for his own identity and belongingness  he encourages the readers to have courage and face the challenges in life .Han represents a figure of bravery,wisdom and humbleness which are qualities that every individual should try to embrace.
In today's society even though people know things are wrong many choose to accept how things are .so mark tells his readers to fight for what we think is right ,and look for your place in the world and where you stand in the society.The book thief clarifies with readers to stick to our inner guidence and fight for what's right.
It's not a happy ever after book for those who want to feel good after reading .The story will takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions and give you a closer look of the life of the common people during the war times and If your ready to embrace those emotions it's a good suggestion from my part .
