I like the idea of a scavenger hunt. Student can tackle a text as a group. Maybe I can give students a excerpts, under 350 words, and they can search for character, action (falling/rising), or mood/setting. They can also search for the object pertinent to the text/story.

I like the thought of using the Empathy Map using characters from the literature we're covering at the time. Glow and Grow would be great to implement with peer feedback.

Looking at Low Risk - Pair-Share: I like the interests and hobbies - a number of my students play a musical instrument. Also, pets worked really well as a low risk discussion topic. Pets segued well into a math activity that happened to be pet-themed.

The Notice Wonder Need follows the NGSS phenomenon teaching that drives student inquiry. We use Observations, Wonder, Know and modify each section as we progress through the unit learning the topic the phenomena is based on.

I was interested in the literature and expository based think, pair, share activities. I can see implementing both of these after students have gained some confidence in lower risk activities.

Communicate Draw could be a great way to get students using academic language to describe the shape of graphs to a partner who draws the shape of the graph described. Using sentence frames and word bank/s students can have resources to utilize. Including real-world scenarios to help enliven the descriptions could be fun too.

TAG = Tell, Ask, Give, feedback method sounds a good entry point towards peer feedback, and I can see it being incorporated in ELA courses. For ENG303, it can be used on the American Dream Myth or Reality unit. Students can provide feed back on one-another's slides, or they can collaborate on the reading of one article.

The waterfall activity sounds like a great icebreaker and way to get students to (hopefully) use the chat. Now, what low stress question to ask? Favorite food? I always love talking about food!

Think Pair Share - Interactive Warm Ups. This could be useful within homeroom as a way to get students to increase involvement in a low risk scenario. During attendance, this could be a useful tool. Question: how can we collaborate with all AAs to come up with a pool of ideas that we can all use to incorporate this?
