         <description><![CDATA[<div>From 1580-1638, Zacharias Janssen, and his father Hans Janssen, worked together to create the first microscope.  They were spectacle makers, and decided to experiment using lenses.  They achieved a microscope much better than a magnifying glass.</div>]]></description>
