If the curriculum you are implementing allows you to use digital books to do read aloud's in class you can integrate technology in ELA. I also think Kahoot is a great way to create any kind of quiz for drill and practice of language arts standards. I also think that Readworks is an awesome way to track and monitor progress of reading passages on different lexile levels. Google Classroom can be used to give students practice with typing and writing essays. You can also use the digital story book and voice thread to interact with the text to annotate as you read passages or chapters that we have leaned about in this course.

I think it's important for students to be able to hear the teacher's voice during lessons. Using websites that allow the teacher to record their voice on a lesson is important. It can keep the students' attention as well as make it more personal.

Online quizzes, research, and interactive activities are useful in literacy. Technology can get students more involved and interested. Worksheets should be a thing of the past for the most part and allowing technology to take it's place is a wonderful option.

I remember being in English classes and watching different videos over whatever piece of literature we were reading at the time. I loved it! For instance, if a classroom was reading The Great Gatsby they could watch movie clips of the older version and newer version of the Gatsby films. After they watch the clips they can compare/contrast the films and how they fit with the text. This brings technology into a classroom as well as allowing the students to engage with the text more since now they have a visual aide.

I have found a few apps that are engaging and students enjoy. For younger students, I would suggest EPIC. For old students, I would suggest Kahoot. It depends a lot on age to me. Kahoot is particularly neat for interactive quizzes and activities.

The best English courses I took had kindles and online games that went along with the books or poems we studied. Also, teachers that found movies and plays on the material we learned was very helpful as well. It made the class more interesting and although we had a lot of material to cover, it did not seem so bad because there was more to do than just sit and hold the book or write on paper.
