The story of Omar
25 years old from Syria. He studies Computer Engineering. He comes from Arben , which is a small village in the countryside. He is a very talented and smart guy and he speaks the English language very well. He is very funny and sarcastic. He loves photography.

He used to study in the University, but things were getting more and more difficult every day because of the war. Some of his relatives lost their properties and their jobs. It was hard to see a future in his country.

In 2017, through the University and with the help of the Church he managed to apply for a student visa. During the process he met 7 other guys, with whom he would move together in Italy. When he arrived he spent 6 months in church accommodation with these guys. He struggled at first, because no one spoke English and he was only spending time with the other Syrians. But he managed to learn excellent Italian, graduate from the Italian University, move to the Capital and find a job.

Nevertheless, the association that helped him move was trying to protect him too much. They get him to "live in a bubble" with the other Syrians. They use him a success example in order to promote the association work and he was feeling like they wouldn't let him go and move on.

Finally, in 2019 he graduated and found a job. He became more independent and managed to improve his relation with this association. He is now starting his Master's and he is integrated in the local community, having a lot of Italian friends.

Name: Marc Luckinbill

Character: He's 25. He comes from a poorish family, he was working in a farm as a peasant and because of this work he was very tired and he got into troubles.

Background story:
He lives in Oran. He has four siblings, his father is missing, he is the eldest and that is why he has so much pressure on him.

Antagonist: Marc has an evil alterego, named Deni Ilev who pushes him to do bad things, such as getting involved in drug dealings/fights.

Motivation: he lives with and for his family, he doesn't save up any money,ò and his alterego is pushing him to do illegal things and also for adrenaline/the thrill of it.

What are the reasons behind migrating?
For a better life, for his family and because of Europe.
He doesn't have enough money, and due to his alter-ego character he does illegal stuff and he decided to run away (he got into troubles) and he thought in Europe there were more opportunity.
Before leaving he was being a drug dealer. He was dealing with maryjane, HEROine, and hashish.

SETTING:
He left Oran 4 years ago: he got into troubles with another gang and he was in the wrong place in the wrong time. Somehow, he managed to run away but the other people knew where he was living and because of that, he decided to leave the country to be safer, and to get money. Another reason for leaving was caused by his family, who got in a danger area as well.

PLOT:
He had to face many difficulties to arrive to Italy, he takes a boat and during a storm he managed to approach Italy, in particular on the Sardinian shores.
Unfortunately, he's very sick and he needs to be cured.
There is an internal fight, where Marc wants to say the truth because HONESTY ALWAYS PAYS BACK, but Deni wants to lie because he heard that if you're a minor you can access the healthcare system and you have more rights.
Once he recovers, he is hosted in a PSRAS. He struggles to integrate himself within the society. He wants to work and do something, to send money back to his siblings.
He got into a dispute with a moroccan, because of their countries differences: on the one hand Marc thinks that we're all equals; on the other hand Deni wants to have a fight, because he's frustrating.

He is risking to get to jail but luckily something happens: Marc cannot go to jail because he said he's a minor. Thanks to Deni, Marc has the opportunity to go to an education center, where he learns italian, he is doing vocational trainings, with the promise to get a job once he become "legally" major age.
As time passing by, Marc realises that if it wouldn't have been for Deni he would have failed and probably forced to go back home, where a lot of troubles where waiting for him. On the other hand, Deni realises that if you are good with other and you live in a friendly environment, you will see the light at the end of the road.
Marc faces this path of acceptation of himself, becoming a better person, finding a job once he turns 18.
When he starts working he decides to send remittances to his own family.
Nowadays, Marc has just started working, his family is doing great, he knows a new language, and he is buying a house.

SOLUTION:
Sometimes, honesty pays back, but some lies can help you get through something, even though this means doing something "illegal", such as having basic human rights.

Our protagonist's name is Amina, she is 28 years old and she is a Yemeni refugee currently living in Spain. Amina has a university education, and in Yemen, she was working in the government. When the conflict broke out, in 2015 in Yemen it had resulted in the largest humanitarian crisis; parties to the conflict have killed and injured thousands of Yemeni civilians. She fled as her life was in danger. She made it to a specific city in Spain by foot, and there she asked for asylum. Her parents think that she is in Egypt, they have no idea that she is so far away from home.

She was later moved to another city in Spain, where she sometimes felt alone and isolated due to not finding enough ways of integration where she could meet other people: both Spanish people, as she wanted to get closer to the culture and understand different points of views, and people closer to home, as sometimes you feel a little homesick.

Slowly, she found different places where she could express herself and integration methods. One of her favorite places to express herself is in football matches, especially when they scream “GOAL!”, because she says she can “express herself in public” something that, as she said, where she is from, is not socially accepted. She found other places, like an Association where she met other refugees, migrants and Spanish people, were she felt welcomed and listened to, and where she could talk about what it felt like to be a refugee.

It is very important that we create spaces where refugees and migrants can integrate themselves, as it can be very isolating. This way, they can meet both local people and others who are in their same position, so they can feel listened to while also learning about the local culture.
Because of Covid19 she is currentrly unemployed but she is looking for a job.
