Based on a rumor I heard from Yishan, students have more empathy towards organisms when they meet them in person. I would love to introduce my students to new animals and then have them create presentations on the one that was most inspiring to them

Hands on during field trips seems engaging and an awesome experience for my students. We can also use the WHAT I SEE and WHAT IT MEANS method 😉

I believe that these components will help build students’ connection to understand the importance of science.

I-Squared is a helpful way for students to break down analytical data and understand what the graph represents. The information is obtained from them using their observational skills and interpretation skills. Students then combine the two to make a meaningful caption of the graph.

Data Analysis

I will incorporate in my lessons the data analysis specifically the I square. This will help students to identify and interpret the data in a graph, in combination with the DSET to write their scientific explanation.

I found the WIS/WIM strategy to be a good access point for visual data representations. I can see myself using this as a scaffolded strategy for data analysis.
