This giving the grievers a free opportunity to get as many boys as they'd like. Teresa and Thomas can speak to each other through their minds.  Thomas has decided to purposely get stung by a griever so he can go through the changing to figure out the code to the maze. The conflict is solved by figuring out the code to the maze and finding the way out.
