         <description><![CDATA[<p>Plessy was 7/8th Caucasian but still considered black under Louisiana Law; sat in the whites only cart of the train, he was asked to leave and refused. The courts found that in was constitutional to have racial segregation. It was ruled that it did not violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.</p>]]></description>
