Most of these white blood cells are formed in the bone marrow.

a) Leukocytes

b) They are classified based on their functions and structures

c)There are six types of White blood cells;

Neutrophils, Eosinophils, Basophils, Bands, Monocytes and Lymphocytes.

Neutrophils kill bacteria by ingesting them. (Bands are immature Neutrophils)

Eosinophils kills parasites and have a role in allergic reactions

Basophils releases histamine which causes blood vessels to leaks and attracts white blood cells.

Monocytes phagocytize bacteria throughout the body and also old, damages and dead cells in the body.
