Know:
The activity that helped my knowledge the most was when we did Dave's workshop, on Thursday we got given a folder of clips from a small horror movie. We used Adobe Premiere Pro to put the clips together, this was good as it gave other students a good opportunity to edit for other students. I didn't really gain anything apart from practising on a new editing software that I am not the most comfortable with. Premiere Pro does limit me when I am editing something that is advanced like a music video where I use a lot of special effects. But for the project that we are doing this unit is quite simple to edit depending on the style of it. For example for our video I have been told that we want a trap beat in the background so I will use some nice transitions that will appeal to our target audience which is young teenagers between the age of 16-18 roughly. Since I am experienced in editing I it didn't develop my skills but I am still learning new things everyday. I have learned some little things while using Adobe Premiere Pro but nothing huge, I guess I could use this in the future if I cannot edit on Sony Vegas due to a technical issue.

•Do:
The new skills I applied this week is improvising, during the week some days some of our members were not in so the members that were in and I improvised and got some B-roll footage that we will use for our promotional video, this was done successfully as we ended up actually getting some decent shots with the DSLR camera and the handheld rig. This time I am using OneDrive for the clips storage as when I was trying to get the clips I found out that my computer at home doesn't have the port for an SD card. Luckily I used my dads laptop in his office to upload them to OneDrive. Another reason for using OneDrive is that the college has good upload speed so it is very easy to use. I completed the task by importing all of the clips into Adobe Premiere Pro and watching them to find out what order they could go into and what sound effects I could add. Once creating a rough storyboard in my head I put the clips into order and added some horror chase music to it to make it better. There was only barrier when doing this task, sometimes Adobe Premiere Pro doesn't load properly so I had to restart the computer but then I lost the clips because they got wiped since they were on the desktop. To solve this I got the clips back off of Dave and then tried loading Premiere Pro again, luckily it worked this time so I could continue with the task.

•Show:
I presented my work outcomes by editing the clips exporting it and then uploading it to showbie. (screenshot below).

•Improve:
The improvements that would've helped this week is that more of our group showed up to some of the lessons. The group and I have planned ahead of what we are doing over the next few weeks, we discuss these in our production meetings that we have almost every lesson when we go out to film. Also this diary entry is decently longer than the other past few ones as well which I am happy about. The group has also worked together well when we are all in, we bounce ideas of each other to make them as good as they can be. This shows that we all want the best result and grade from this video. In summary I think the group just needs to attend more and be more reliable.

Know:
The activity that helped my knowledge the most was when we took part in Dave's workshop and learned about the audio equipment that is used when filming. I took on the role of the microphone operator, My job was to aim the microphone using a boom pole in the direction of the presenter reading a news script. This gave me more knowledge of what it is like working as a team instead of working on my own like I did when I edited my music video. I developed my skills of working in a team with other people that I haven't really talked to before, this strengthened my communication skills as I had to set up and ask others how to use the equipment since I missed the same workshop the week before.

Do:
I couldn't apply any skills that I knew before because this was all new to me since I haven't ever used the types of audio equipment that I did on Thursday. For example I used a recording piece of hardware called a Tascam, at first it was quite confusing on how to use it but Dave taught us how to use it. There were quite a few barriers when we did this workshop due to not knowing how to use the Tascam correctly, at first we had problems with it because it wasn't picking up any audio and then we found out the mic wasn't even turned on and it was plugged into the wrong socket. After Dave corrected us we got the shots done in a few tries. Then when we went to get the clips and the audio onto our computers to upload to Showbie the audio file got corrupted so we sadly couldn't use it.

Show:
We presented our work outcomes by uploading them to showbie. (screenshot below).

Improve:
The improvements that we could have worked on this past week was listening more carefully when Dave was explaining how to use the Tascam but luckily I took some notes on the important details on how to use it.

This will give my knowledge and skills for when I have to interview people on my promotional video. I completed the task by getting a DSLR camera and a Tripod and also a Reflector, we then set up an interview for each other. We also had a different types of questions. The only barrier that I encountered was when my group were last to get equipment and then we didn't get to choose where we I am proud that I did my interview, this improved my improvisation skills.

•Show: I used showbie to present my work outcomes, when I completed the task I uploaded the video of my interview and my write up.

•Know:
The activity that helped my knowledge the most was when we did Dave's workshop on Thursday. We were given a sheet of shot types and transitions and we went out in random groups. This was good because I got a lot more knowledge of the DSLR camera and the equipment. Dave also taught us how to achieve different types of shots with the tripod with different techniques, I learned that you can achieve a smooth zoom if you raise one of the legs and you can slowly arch it into an object. I also learned some different terminology when we studied shot types and their names, for example the 180 degree rule. This will help me a lot in the future since soon I will be making short videos about different departments in the college. This workshop did definitely develop my skills further as when I was creating my music video I didn't know a lot about using the camera but now I know what the settings do and how to achieve good shots. I have learned a lot in this new workshop about the cameras, a lot about the definitions on the settings.

•Do:
These skills that I got to use weren't really new but I used my editing skills to put all of the clips which was easy to do because it was just a compilation of the clips that we recorded that day. Also I applied my new skill of getting to know the DSLR camera more. We completed the task by going out and using equipment to record different shot types and transitions. Different shot types required different actors to play the role of whoever was in the scene. I also had another task of deconstructing different websites and videos that are promotional for the college. I had to take screenshots of different scenes and describe what type of shot it was and how it was effective.

•Show:
We presented our work outcomes by once I finished the editing and the summary I uploaded it to my Showbie task 3 and then logged off so the next member could log on so that they could upload it to their task 3 too. (screenshot below).

•Improve:
The improvement that I could work on is trying to stay ahead of my work deadlines, I have learned from past experience that hard work pays off from the music video. I plan to put these into use on when we start making these videos.
