The DVD player wasn't cheap. We didn't buy it. If the DVD player had been cheap, we would have bought it.
You couldn't afford the CD. You spent all your money on magazines. If you hadn't spent all your money on magazines, you would have could afford the CD.
We didn't buy the television. It wasn't in sale. We would have bought the television if it had been on sale.
Andy lost his receipt. He didn't get a refund. If Andy hadn't lost his receipt, he would have got a refund.
Maisy didn't save her pocket money. She borrowed money from David. Maisy wouldn't have borrowed money from David if she had saved her pocket money.
Philip didn't have a lot of money. He didn't lend Liam £10. If Philip had had a lot of money, he would have lent liam £10.

I left school in July and got my first hob. I immediately opened a current account and arranged for my salary to be paid every month. I also opened a saving account , wich pays good interest - about 5% a year. I chose a bank that has a branch in my town but also has Internet banking, as I'd like to manage the accounts online. I was given a cheque book (though I don't think I'll write many cheques), and a debit card, wich I can use to pay for things online or over the phone. I also received a four-digit PIN number wich I have to enter when I withdraw money from a cash machine.
