3.  The ship to Europe needed a captain, so Chillingworth told the captain that he was part of Hester's party and that he was a doctor.

Chapter 22

1.  Pearl is tempted to approach Dimmesdale in public and give him a kiss.
2.  Hester begins to questions their plans because of how Dimmesdale is acting.
3. The captain of the ship sent this message to Hester "Chillingworth says he will make the arrangements for bringing Dimmesdale on board, so Hester should attend only to herself and her child."
