         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;On first week of course, we are given a task to complete our student profile, record a short introduction of ourselves that contain of our name, programme and faculty. Besides, sir created a WhatsApp group for this course to make our communication easier and provided us the link to join the WhatsApp group in the eleap UNIMAS. Our course lecturer which is Sir Dexter, greeting and welcoming us that join his class and hope all of us could give cooperation to succeed this course as well enjoyed this experience.&nbsp; Next, sir introduces himself and his academic background after started the class. Sir also explain to us about what we will learn through the course such as&nbsp; course outline that divided to six section, the course plan and marking rubric for this course.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We started first lesson about the course which is: Create a speakers rider. This topic is about us as a speaker preparing our environment and audience. It is about how to present and engage our audience through a content that can approach our audience. Sir Dexter also explaining one of the strange case of Van Halen as one of their speak rider is to provide a large bowl of M&amp;M in the backstage areas but contain absolutely no brown ones.&nbsp; Speaker rider play a big part to keep us confident with ourselves around the audience which is really important for a speaker. Sir Dexter also give us&nbsp; our first task based on video of Miss Philippines World 2008 which is Janina San Miguel won Binibining Pilipas World 2008 despite losing her composure and giving unfocused and rambling response with a thick Filipino accent during the final question round and what is her speaker rider.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Week 3 – 7 April 21</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On third week of course we learn about second topic which is: Write stories, word pictures &amp; lyric.&nbsp; This second topic is about power chord about how we as speaker have our own method in making our theme more vital and memorable in a way it move listener and stir their imagination. There are 3 method of power chord that usually being used by speaker such as story time, write great lyric and paint word pictures. Many methods are used so the speaker could attract the audience to pay attention on what they try to deliver. Sir Dexter also explain to us about a project proposal about interesting places in our hometown as our topic that majority selected by our classmate. We also given 2<sup>nd</sup> task about speech analysis based on a video of a girl escaping from North Korea in search for freedom.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Week 4 – 14 April 21</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We started our class with a new topic : Experience a vocal &amp; visual tune-up that avoid death by power point. Under this topic, there is four sub topic as a punk guide to life by power point such as find your voice, life by power point, the power of props and going unplugged;- why Lo-Fi can work. We were also given second task which is to study the TEDx Talks Video by Kenny Nguyen and answer what is is the shield of no as protection and sword of yes for compliment. No is for reject. This show how vocal and tone could create different way of delivering. Besides, props also a way of speaker to attract the audience to engage with their talk. While, second task is to evaluate the presenter public speaking skills, evaluate his skills from various perspectives like voices, props, content of the speech.&nbsp; Sir Dexter also shared a link of ideas of video of short film made with still photography and the roots.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Week 5 -  21 April 21</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We learn about fourth topic: Create interaction. This session is about how we as a speaker interact and engaged with the audience. There is 3 methods to rock the crowd which is the horror of Q and A, Hallelujah! Do it Gospel Style and Rocking up the breakout session. Call and response is a form of Hallelujah! Do it Gospel Style for examples, a singer calls out the line or chorus, then the audience will sing a response in echo. Besides, while delivering talk we as a speaker need to be alert about our talk as audience may get bored or lost interest of the talk. But, while sharing with your audience we need to avoid personal and confidential information. Sir also briefing us about the project proposals as it were distributed to be used by student or teacher and bring benefits for them.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Week 6 – 28 April 21</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On this week we learn about the fifth topic: Get experienced. In this topic, there is 4 ways of developing speaking skills. First, is learning from the master as we as speaker can learn by a creative copying from any speaker and try to deliver our talk on originality because it different each speaker. Secondly, be an apprentice as you observe and learn on becoming a modern master. Next, put in time especially in deliberate working by improving what u not good at, learn or try a new theme of style of delivering. Lastly, is expand your mind as we need to find new source of inspirations of different genre or beyond of obvious. To become a successful speaker it shows that practice is needed to be perfect. We also given a third task on write our inspirational favourite speakers and why I admire them.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Week 7- 5 May 21</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this week, my groupmate and I did couple of&nbsp; discussion about our project proposal. We also keep our group update with our part progress and try to complete the proposal as we need to submit to Sir Dexter. And our group send it to Sir Dexter the proposal a few day after we completed the proposal. This is important because sir could can see how much progress on our project and improve our mistake in the proposal. Sir also inform us there is no synchronous class this week but we need to scan our attendance through zoom or manual attendance for those who cannot scan. We also assigned with task on presentation skills: based on video entitled Local English or Standard English, we asked to describe the speaker which Marianna Pascals presentation skills which I think the video is humorous and entertaining.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this week we learn about the last Topic: The Zen of Presenting. In this topic, we learn about how we as speaker help our audience to connect to us on what we are saying. There are four of the Zen presenting such as non- violence which include of how our attitude toward the audience, humility as we teach ourselves to be more patient and tolerant, the breath of inspiration and and enjoy the silence because silent doesn’t mean just quietness but it has a quality to it. On becoming a good speaker, it is important to learn and teach ourselves the Zen presentating skills. We also given a Presentation Skills Quiz. This quiz adopted from effective skills tutorial by Northern Illinois University to figure out how we understand this course. Our group leader for the project also inform us that she already finished recording the places for our project and we can started the script writing and narrating for the project.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On 25<sup>th</sup>&nbsp; May there is no class because it is a Public Holiday in Sarawak which is Wesak Day but instead Sir Dexter asked us to join a zoom meeting on 24<sup>th</sup> May to scan our attendance and manual attendance for those who cannot attend the zoom meeting. Sir Dexter also assigned us with a task. In this task we were asked to choose which is the best task out of 6 major topic that we already learned and we need to justify our choice why the topic that we choose is the best. Based on six topic, I choose experience a vocal and visual tone up because based on my opinion after listening talk there is various of methods that each speaker used in delivering their talk which I think it is interesting because we as a student we used different tone while delivering presentation. This topic also help me on improving my presentation skills and I am happy and glad that I join the right class with a great lecturer.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In today class, Sir Dexter explained to us on how to do a report based on our project. Sir also share a copy of a report from his colleague and has his colleague permission. He also reminded us to update our padlet and continue our padlet as we need to submit it. Today is also our second last class for this course and I was sad and disappointed that we cannot have a face to face class due to this pandemic. Besides, we only cannot interact with you as much as we want but only through zoom meeting. Just to be honest, for me you’re the most understanding, kind and the best lecturer for me in this semester. You always explaining every single thing in detail which I could understand your class well and I guess that is why I barely asked questions but in a good ways. Thank you sir for your effort and always being thoughtful for the past few months. I hope to see you in real life soon when I get the chance to go to UNIMAS soon.          <title>Week 11 - 16 June 2020</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today is our last class for this course. It was a short and quick session but it was a memorable memory for all of us. It a great day to feel sad about and may all of us be happy because there are so much experiences and joy that we went through together. Sir Dexter also keep us updated about our project video and remind us about this padlet reflection. There is no words that could describe how this class help me and having a great lecturer that thoughtful and kind like Sir Dexter always keep me motivated. BTW Sir, congratulations for vaccination :). Get well soon and stay healthy as well stay safe Sir! Have a blessed day. We may not going to meet each other soon or will be in the same class anymore, but I hope that all of us can reunite soon in UNIMAS and lets hope that this pandemic will ended soon so we can succeed this wish.&nbsp;Thank you for you for everything and this sweet memory Sir.<br>p/s: this is best class that I ever joined and it was a great and exciting experiences for me.
