The laws said that Jews had to register their property and businesses and by doing this all of it was given to non Jews for very cheap. The Hutu president was killed along with the president of Burundi and many of their staff members. It was suspected it was by the Hutu people but never officially proven. Their reason was so they could blame the Tutsi's and then begin the genocide. The Hutu considered the plane being shot down the last straw and began a genocide that lasted 100 days. In 1993 alone Rwanda imported 750,000 dollars worth of machetes from China. Other weapons like assault rifles and grenades were used but they were much more expensive and rare. As a result of this the checkpoint locations were already set up but the Hutu people used these as a place to trap Tutsis. When World War 2 started there were more than 250,000 members. Some were involved in intelligence others ran the concentration camps which is what they were best known for. Prisoners were Jewish, homosexuals, gypsys, and German communists. Prisoners were forced to work until they were not able to anymore. If they were not able to they would be killed. Streets were full of homeless people and the streets were littered with garbage and human waste. The ghetto police were very strict and would not hesitate to kill people in the ghettos or send them to concentration camps.
