         <description><![CDATA[<div>Atticus stands out in his town of many due to the fact that he respects everyone he comes across. This is shown in the court case when Atticus had been calling Mayella Uwell ‘ma’am’ and she had gotten upset. The lines after which had stated <em>“We’ve done business in this court for years and years, and Mr. Finch is always courteous to everybody. He’s not trying to mock you, he’s trying to be polite. That’s just his way (Lee 165). ”</em>  Showing to me that everyone knows that even though the circumstances of someone's being may make them seem like they are an awful person, Atticus treats them with respect and courtesy. The town of Maycomb seems to know this and seems to respect him for it. </div>]]></description>
