Just like Christmas in America Italians decorate shops and houses, but instead of after Christmas when everyone puts up Christmas decorations in America, Italy has a designated day, December 8th, to put up decorations and buy presents for each other.

Though I've learned many new things about my heritage, one thing that really surprised me was the entire day devoted to buying presents and putting up Christmas decorations. In America everyone does it on different days but in Italy everyone does it on the same day.
