would it be wrong to use both a real photo and a lined block template for organization? If the answer is no, then an outline of the block would be my choice since children have to make a visual discrimination as to where the blocks go. I believe that is a little harder than matching the picture to the block.

I would use real block photos and a template. The template would help with size, while photo could help with organizing based off look.

I would prefer to use real block photos, especially of the actual blocks in my classroom, so that students can see exactly what pieces are available and where they need to be returned.

In my classroom, the block area is labeled with contact paper shapes. I would like to replace them with real photos however.

I would rather use real life pictures for the children. I feel like it would be easier for them to understand and for clean up purposes.

I would use a real picture of the actual blocks I have on the shelf that I want them to be placed. This way my students would be able to see the block and match the block to shelf.

I would rather use real block photos as a template may distract or confuse children. For example if I have a red shape, the students may believe red blocks go there. If I have the real image of the block, they can easily identify where it belongs.

I would rather have a colored paper lined block template. I think a bright color stands out as a symbol. The symbol is part of a legend that is showing the students what to look for (reading) when they are organizing the blocks to put them away. It is not the same color as the blocks but the same shape. It stands out so they can recognize it as a symbol they must read as separate from the actual blocks.

I would prefer real photos to help kids organize them. I think it's an easier representation for them to see.

I would use the picture with a picture of the Block Glossary as well, so students can see all of the variety, but also use the pictures to organize.

Real block photos would be preferred, so the children can compare the blocks to the real photo to make clean up and set up easier for everyone.

Personally, I would prefer to use photos of the actual real blocks. Having photos of the actual blocks will better support children with placing the blocks into the correct area during clean up time. I would prefer to trace the actual size of each block, then label the block photos of the shelves. The exact sizing will be use as a guide for the children when placing blocks back onto the shelves.

I would prefer to use photos to label the different blocks. More age appropriate. Maybe block words can be added above or next to the photo as the children grow and develop.

I have a purchased block shelf that came with block templates to adhere to it. It works well and as I continue to add to the block area I think I will keep this type of label.

In my class I prefer real block photos I know my students like to match whatever they are doing to real life as much as they can.
