The mysterious dark colours used in Ursula's costume says much about her character, suggesting that she is an antagonist, with the sparkly shimmery aspect signifying a magical, enchanting element to her personality. The size of her dress and makeup makes her appear imposing to the audience and someone to be feared. The colours, tentacles and shell necklace suggest she is a sea creature, while her crazy hair suggests that she too is crazy.

Through Elphaba's costuming, she can be interpreted as a simple and ordinary girl. This is also seen through her simple flats and plain braid. The dull, bland blue of her dress shows that she wants to fit into the crowd, like the way her dress does. This idea is however contrasted to her green skin which uncontrollably causes her to stand out in any circumstance/situation. The green could also be seen as a representation for the action of being disgusted or the the idea of renewal and growth. Significantly, both these ideas represent Elphaba as a character. Her witches hat can depict her as both evil and confident in certain aspects. Overall, Elphaba's costuming depicts her as simple, but confident however she wants to be seen as an ordinary person. Her green skin makes this impossible as people are disgusted by this attribute of hers nonetheless she is still seen as a symbol of growth and rebirth.

The use of dark colours and texture of the gowns demonstrate that she has wealth, power and a evil side. The high collar and crown suggests that she is at the top of the monarchy but it also shows that she commits a lot of evil. This main character is someone to be afraid off and characterised as a 'baddie'. 
The use of pale make up shows that she is sick and vein.  Overall comes across as a wicked character who may have a dark pass.

Harley Quinn's costume is a physical representation of the character she is. Her clothing is ripped and short, suggesting irresponsibility and absurdity. Tattoos imply that Harley Quinn is a wild and reckless character. Her hairstyle and her t-shirt slogan convey her childish and audacious nature. She is seen for the majority of her screen time holding a baseball bat and a gun stowed in her jacket. The addition of weaponry to her costume suggests her violence to the extent that she carries weapons with her everywhere.   The use of contrasting colours, blue and red in her costume, makeup and hair, make Harley Quinn's character recognisable. Red is a colour often associated with power, rage and destruction. Whereas blue is associated with kindness and emotion. The dark pallet of colours used represents a lack of freedom and joy. The dirt and ripped clothing shows to audience that they are from the lower class. No jewellery is present to help show their status and their messy hair further expresses this. The girls dresses are often long, maybe to indicate a lack of freedom.

Lavagirl's costume is pretty much a representation of who she is as a character. She can fire lava, and is obvious in her costume, as it reminds viewers of the cracked rocks on a volcano with magma flowing beneath. The fiery pink is a representation of her strong passion along with the yellow-orange, highlighting she is a good character.
