Within the shoot, Navntoft speaks to the people with the conditin and their day to day life suffering from the problems and the hidden strggles that they have to go through such as letting their partner lock their foods in a box so that they dont end up eating it during the night. In this project, My Dad Without Everyone Else, he begins to reexplore his fathers identity by looking at the old archive of his families photographs as a way to attempt to find out his fathers real identity of who he was before he was born into the world. However, it not only just that, it also represents the time when Markosian and her family left post Soviet Russia in 1996 for the United States as a way to start a new life but also her mother  leading a new life as a mail order bride, which lead to further troublesome times in the US.
