This was a good exercise for the group as we stepped outside our comfort zone as a group. We did struggle within the group as our time signiture was 7/8 which is not easy to play in.

Research for my first track

For my first track i would like to do an educational Nu-metal song on computer error codes. To write and produce this song i am researching Nu-metal songs and how they are made. Another research avenue is the subject itself.

What will the song be about?

windows computers only

-computer error codes eg blue screen

-talking about the internal components on the computer - cpu, gpu, ram ect

https://study.com/academy/lesson/what-is-computer-hardware-components-definition-examples.html

components for potential lyrics

For this song i would like to lean into a more humorous educational vibe with useful facts but a early 2000s style of music. Taking inspiration from bands such as Bowling for soup , Limp Bizkit , sum41 in the lyrics.

An idea i have right now is writing the song from the perspective of a computer repair man , more telling a story to different customers about issues within there computers and how he can fix them. This mixed with the actual concept of education would be my innovation.

This song released in 2004 with the album "A hangover you don't deserve" with specifically this song being a deflection of the culture. The band sings about the modern culture while also reflecting on the "good ol days" so to speak. In my previous post i discussed making a character writing the song through there eyes and i think this is a good example of that.

Without it being specifically stated , Jared (The lead singer) writes about a person not being able to come to terms that they are getting older , with the concept of time catching up to them. To me this is a reflection of Jared's thoughts but he portrays it in the song through this person who is stuck in the 80s.

I aim to use a similar style of writing within my track but through the eyes of a repair man talking to his customers.

It jumps around the 3rd and 5th to remain within the key and sounds consistent.

They remain the same with guitar riffs , but the lead guitar stays on the D in a accented strumming pattern. however synth parts are completely original likewise with the bass. The bass has a flange and has the 60s combo logic setting to create an 80s sound . I also use a metal pick which is incredibly thick to create the sound I want.
