Mr. Dean has stood out to me so much this year. His light and devotion to each and every student have been so impactful. His heart is so devoted to his job, but it is more than just teaching students, it is showing students they have a voice and there's so much more in life. Each student at this school has potential and he strives to make each student feel welcomed and loved. I get super excited to come to this class every day because I look forward to the home I have developed in this room. I feel like I can rely on Mr. Dean for anything. After he helped me review my college essays, I felt he knew and understood me better. He was a football coach but he has history in baseball as he was in the mlb for a year or two which made him more inspirational to me. I looked forward to his class, 3rd period everyday. I didn’t like that Tuesdays we didn’t have 3rd period because that meant I couldn’t go to Mr. Hinson’s class. Mr. Hinson reassured me that high school is not the biggest event in my life. He understood when I was having an off day, or when I needed to focus my mind somewhere else besides his class. You understand a class’ needs and work with that. Sometimes they need structured assignments, sometimes they needed some less guided writing, sometimes they need to read, sometimes they need to have a class discussion, not necessarily regarding assigned reading, but rather current events. You support your students, and know that some students have made the decision not to try, and you try not to let that get in the way of other students’ education. Even though being a teacher in America today comes with many trials and tribulations, you continue to put your best foot forward, even though I’ve seen the look you get when a class refuses to stop talking. There’s an honesty to you as a teacher that many other teachers don’t seem to have. At the beginning of the year I was a nice quiet student, but one day Ms. B had something on me or it was me having something against her and from that day forward I did not like her. I always argued with her and she always had something to say. By the time it was second semester I started to get along with her and tease her and laugh with her. She was never really worried about me because I never had a bad grade in her class and she knew I was going to be fine in and after high school. When I have the chance I sometimes go and visit her just to see how she’s doing and chat with her. She will forever be my favorite teacher.

Especially my senior year. He has gave me so much positive energy and the extra push I need to help me through my senior year. Without him as my advisor this year I don’t know if I could finish it. He has helped me study for my SAT and ACT tests. He also helped me with my math class when I found myself struggling and starting to give up. There was a point when I wanted to give up and drop the class but he wouldn’t let me. He believed that I could do it. He ask me everyday how my classes are and if I need help. But she turned out to be one of the best and easy person to talk to. Coach Boyd is also the best we meet this year because she was my cheer coach. She was always positive and encouraging. Without them I don't know how I would survive these couple years and now they leaving soon. I know they have change and impacted many people lives. He was a pain because I hate people telling me things I already know because I use to feel as if, it was assign more pressure on me to do better. But these teacher really saved me and I'm very thankful for having teacher like them because it's sometimes hard to find a teacher that willing to tell you truth but also help and make you understand if you keep doing the same thing you aren't going to get anywhere.

It took until my junior year to meet a teacher that I could  relate to and that was Mr.Dean in a unrelatable way if that makes sense. He use to be a headache to me man started to dislike him a bit but the more and more he talked not even to me one on one but just to the class I began to understand him ,feeling his vibes,and grew a liking for him. He did a lot to form me and make me the toughest person I can be. He made me look at school and other things in a different perspective. I first met him freshman year in Spanish 2, he saw potential in me although I was always slacking and kept pushing me, which helped me improve myself during my Sophomore year. Fast forward a year later I get him as my Spanish teacher again for Spanish 4. I came back more mature and more understanding of conversations that he would often have so that I can excel in life. Many of them were of college schools, reading books, and what job am I looking into after high school. He’ll always try to find what's the best for anyone and share his experience over his life and also give lots of advice or life lessons always keeping it real. As a teacher he was great when I enter high school my Spanish was trash and now my Spanish has tremendously increased especially grammatically, I am now able to have a full-on conversation with a native speaker. Now as a senior he has been giving me flyers of universities and has told me if I’ve thought about what I’ve wanted to do after school. Many conversations about me joining the army and retiring at age 39 and then retiring at 59 with two 401K’s. Throughout my stay in Clarke Central, I have not found anyone who has been there trying to actually help me once I’m out of school.

This is a big high school and it’s easy to feel unseen in some classes, which is why great teachers can make all the difference. Senior year, one of those teachers for me is Dr. Swift. While I don’t really care for the subject of statistics, his genuine kindness and excitement to see his students makes Clarke Central a warmer and more welcoming place to be for me. Even though he calls us all his “favorite student,” it always makes me smile. For example this year i got into a big fight and she was very mad at me because i was doing great and was not in any drama at all . My grades became lower once i came back she checked on me every day until i got where i was suppose to be . That's how she made a great impact on me .

I feel my running back coach Sorrells helped make the most positive impact on me. He showed me a lot of things as a running back but one thing he showed me most was work ethic. I didn't show much ethic in class which is why I ran a lot after practice which also helped me in football but not in the long run. My coach showed me how to get my footwork better and he showed me workouts that got me bigger which was about my tenth grade spring at that moment I was barely ever leaving the weight room.
