So, they dropped out of school and threw dances and parties just to have fun. A couple of them formed groups and sang and played songs at those parties. This was a group of kids that originally wanted to have fun and not to worry about obeying Hitler's orders. This was forbidden because he could accidentally listen to a channel that was not in Germany. Helmuth doing what probably any teenager would do, is turn it on. He fidgeted with it for a minute until he found the BBC Broadcast. As soon he started listening, he was overcome with fear and discomfort. He wanted to do something about it. So, he secretly asked his friends to help him spread this truth. About a week later, he and his friends hid in a basement making leaflets and pamphlets based on certain BBC broadcasts. They secretly gave them to other German citizens by putting them in pockets and stapling them to the walls of buildings. This went on for about 6 months before Helmuth was caught. This was because they wanted to fight them to send a message to Hitler. They wanted to let him know that he will not win. After a about 7 months, most of the group leaders were arrested.
