In chapter 2, page 22 the novel stated “I volunteered as a tribute”. This shows how the main character Katniss had to  volunteered to go to the hunger games instead of her sister because Katniss didn't want her sister to get hurt or die. As you can see the reaping has impacted Katniss to volunteered as a tribute.

My favorite part was when Katniss was taking care of Peeta  and helping one another because Katniss realized that she actually cares for him and Peeta loves Katniss. Katniss wants to protect Peeta because she cares about Peeta and wants him to go home with her. My favorite character was Rue from district 11 because she was Katniss's favorite tribute and Rue  had a gentle, kind nature .
If I could change one thing, it would be Katniss's feelings because then she would know if someone liked her or not. One technique the author used that I really liked was  foreshadowing because it gave a hint about what was going to happen next. One example of this is when Peeta became an ally with the other tributes . I would recommend this book because it makes you wonder what is going  to happen next and it hooks you into the book.

At the start of the novel Katniss is emotional . I know this because in the text it mention,''Who cares what they do to me?" During the events that unfold , Katniss starts to catch feelings for Peeta. This can be seen in chapter 8, when it states, ''Unlike the stage kisses and caresses so far, this gesture seems natural and comforting. I don't want him to stop and he doesn't .'' At the end of the novel Katniss stated a catch feeling for Peeta. This information is shown when the novel expresses ''What am I supposed to do? Sit here and watch to you die?'' The lyrics state that,"You betrayed me." These lyrics make me think of the novel; in chapter 12, it expressed,"This teaming up with the career wolf pack to hunt down the rest of us." This is why Katniss was surprised that Peeta would betray her like that and join the wolf pack to hunt down the other tributes including her.
