In the garments industry one has variety of options to choose as career. If you are looking to build your career as a fashion designer, you must get some following qualifications and required skills.

Fashion designers can earn a Bachelor’s degree in fashion designing. A double degree in business, merchandising, and marketing can allow one to start their own business. This degree allows one to have sewing, patternmaking skills, use of colors, textiles, and learn about upcoming trends. A background in fashion design study can allow one to understand the fashion production process in a better way and also understand clients’ preferences.

Creativity, ability to work in design backgrounds and software, good idea on global fashion trend, good knowledge on materials & there properties, small scale cutting making skill and strong imagination skill will help one grow in this field.

Good personnel management skill, motivational skill, ability to work in team, good analytical ability, and great patience to look at subordinate problems would help one to build career in garments industry.

Fashion designers may work in a variety of settings, either as independent practitioners, or they may work for large commercial retail companies, or as costume designers in the entertainment industry. Personal characteristics should include an eye for detail, a great deal of creativity, and an ability to get along well with a variety of personality types. Fashion design can also be a highly competitive industry, so confidence and a go-getter attitude is vital to success.

After an internship at Yen My garment company, I have access to working conditions at the company. I find that some problems such as finding a trash bin, looking for needed materials such as needles or ribbons, and backache caused loss of time and affected the working process of workers. I think the company should fix these problems by:

First, on the matter of finding a trash bin, we should provide a trash bin or a rubbish bag at each sewing table for worker. Second, on the matter of looking for needed materials such as needles or ribbons, workers need a small drawer next to the machine table that can hold needles, scissors, buttons, and other materials related to the sewing machine. Finally, it’s backache, we should provide chairs with backrest and footrest which can make to workers feel comfortable for sitting all day. If the company can improve the above, I believe that the company's productivity will be enhanced and workers' time will be maximized.

Firstly, it is backache. This problem has 2 reasons: the worker sit in wrong posture. And The worker have to work too long and sit in oneplace. This status, if prolonged, can lead to health and productivity problems. I suggest that the company should provide fully chair large enough for worker and the chairs should be had the backrest and footrest. Beside, the company should have short breaks so the worker can relax and do their exercise. 

Secondly, I see that our factory is still messy and arrange their working positions unreasonably. I would strongly recommend providing each sewing machine and working table with a rubbish bag .That’s all!

About the lighting, we always provide sunlights which is main source but sometime, artificial light also use. 

Secondly, about the posture, all worker sit in the correct posture, the chairs are  too hight have backrest and footrest. The leg movement is large enough for worker. Thirdly, about the personal working space, we always keep it clean and should be large enough for leg movement, especially, all workers doesn’t work too closely each other and they can move freely.

Next, about the table size, we sure that the table is large enough to put something in it such as thread, button, material and other small tools. Our company is fully equipped with small boxes to store accessories at the work place of each other. That’s all!

After that, I will start with the 1^st point by saying this: firstly, I would like to confirm the order's details. You have ordered for 4500 polo shirts model HH 04561 which are made from polyester. 

Next, I will continue with the second point that relates to the price of the order. I could say: Now, I would like to announce the price of the order, we have discussed in the last meeting that each item will be $12 and if you order at least 5000 iteams and use bank transfer, my company will give you 5% discount. If the customers don't approve the price. I will assure the product quality and our brand's reputation. 

In case, the customer insist on lowering the price, I will suggest that they should order at least 5000 items to get 5% discount. Following that we will move to the third point on the agenda which is about the delivery date. "So you have agreed to receive the goods on the 25 of October and the good is shipped door-to-door". If customers want to recerve the goods earlier, I will have to refuse and explain that our company is working on 4 other big orders and being in rush will negatively affect the product quality. 

After presenting all the content of the meeting, I will say: "Time's running out and we need to draw things to a close” 

Finally, I will conclude all the discussed items in the meeting like this: "Now I will try to sum up what have been decided in the meeting that relate to the order details, the price and the delivery date. Thank you for your time. Goodbye I look forward to speaking to you next week

I’m a designer of ABC company. I have received the actual sample garment. The shirt looks good and has been made quite correctly as described in the spec sheet. However, it has some different details between the spec sheet and the actual sample

Firstly, the color of the fabric is darker than the color required in the specification. So I propose that the pattern development department needs to work with the fabric supplier to order the right color as described in the tech pack.

Secondly, the pocket is in the wrong position compared to the requirements of the spec sheet. In the spec sheet, the pocket is on the left of garment in stead of on the right. Next, The spec sheet requires that the neck width from high point shouder (HPS) to HPS is 5 5/8” but in actual sample it is 8” . I think that it should be taken it in 2 3/8”

Thirdly, the armhole-straight as required in the spec sheet is 8 3/8’’ long but in the actual sample is 8” . I think should let it out 3/8”

Next, in the spec sheet, the cuff opening is 4” instead of 6”. So propose that it should be let the cuff opening of the sample in 2”

Then, the waist in the spec sheet is 15 1/2” but it's actually 24” as I have measured on the sample.I recommend it need to be taken it in 8 1/2”.

One more thing that I need to mention is the bottom opening. The bottom opening in the spec sheet is 17” but it's actually 25” as I have measured on the sample. In my point of view, it need to be taken it in 8”.

I have given some comments on the prototype of the shirt and also some suggestions to revise it. I hope you will soonly revise the sample and give us back on the next day.

As you can see from the first chart, they have 4 big partness with the biggest is us with 52 percent. The next is eu 15 percent, japan with 10%, HongKong with 7% and remaining 18% are in other countries and regions.

Curriculum included personal details, work experience and skills as time-management skill, mapower management development. Second, dress for the job properly is very important. You apply for designer position so you will choose a special outfit to show your style and make impresstion.

Third, you should look for required information of the company about your job as responsibility, qualification , some major skills. you can find on fb on the company’s adverfisment.

Finaly, it is the most important, you need to prepare and pratice examples of interview question.

From this, you will fell more confident with the question asked by the interviewer.

In the second quarter, my sewing line has 3 accidents.

First of all, Nguyen Van An was burned while ironing on April 15th. As a result of this problem, the worker touches carelessly the iron while working. I reminded him to be more attentive and careful while working. Moreover, people turn off the iron when not in use.

Secondly, on May 5th, Le Thi Hong Hanh was the needle entered the hand while sewing. The reason for this was she fell asleep at work. So, solution of this

problem: she needs to check the sewing machine before working and focus on their work. Besides, she needs to keep her mind sober.

Finally, Hoang Van Manh was cut in hand while cutting fabric. Because he didn’t wear a protective glover and he didn’t focus on his work. So I requested all the workers wear glover during work to avoid an unexpected accident.

I have reported about the accident of the second quarter I also summarize the causes of accidents for workers in the process of working and proposing solutions to reduce accidents during work So I think through this report to comment on the working spirit of workers, thereby reminding workers to focus and follow the rules when working.

On my own strengths, I have good expertise, be able to adapt to fax work the skills needed to serve the job such as computer skill, technical ability and teamwwork but I still have weakness that are limited language skills. 

In the next 5 years, I want to have a a stable and suitable job for my self, then I will go to learn more foreign languages to improve my knowledge and may be travel once a year. I want to work at garment company  in HN to be able to do the right thing I study.

 As I know, your company is one of the largest garment companies are weell and the treatment regime is also very considerate. If possible, I would like to work as a fashion designer. I think I suitable for this position because I have experence, while I was in school, I went to work part-time in clothes shops as a designer. I can use the design sofeware on computers, and have knowledge of materials and colors. I am quite lively , hard working and friendly to every one.

Hello everyone now I will introduce myself. First, about the degree. I studied at Hanoi University of Industry and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in garment technology and fashion design. In addition I have a Toeic certificate with a score of 750. With 3 years of experience working as a design assistant in Garco 10, I am proficient in the use of CAD software and time management. In addition, with the above working experience, it also helps me to acquire other skills such as: artistic ability, creativity, communication skills, computer skills, etc. Moreover, I also have a passion for fashion. Talking about my weakness, i have to admit that sometimes i work slow, sometimes i worried much about a concept design. But five years from now, i would like to see myself in a fashion designer.
