I’m psychology there’s still a debate on whether our identity and personality traits are a result of the way we were brought up (“criados”) and our social environment or they are a result of our biological make up (our genes and other aspects we are born with).

For me it depends on your surroundings and your upbringing but I think that as time you can change your personality, either for better or worse. For example, if you are a cold person, it probably comes from the lack of affection they gave you as a child, it may also be because of the betrayal that you decide to become more closed and less affectionate and a lot of things more.

High Risk Gene- MAOA relatad to sex, is in the chromosone. They only can get it by their moms. that´s why the rest of the mens are psychopathic killers or violent persons. A daughter can receive chromosome from the mother and father, it is diluted, while the man can only from the woman what it causes and has to do with cerebellar seretonia.
for the gene to develop violently it would have to go through something very traumatic.

I think that if a child born in a humble environment where parents steal for eat, he will believe that stealing is okay and he surely follow their example. This child will not have the same views as a child born in an environment where they always get what they want and where their parents consider stealing to be a sin. I agree with Cata that he may change his perpective and if he want he can do a difference, either for better or worse. This is an example of social psychology.

I believe that it does not happen so much because of the biological, but rather that it goes more on the side of what surrounds us and how we are raised. I think it's a middle ground between nature and nurture. None is 100 percent. Personality and identity start with you, and I think both your nature and your upbringing affect that. I think that our nature better defines our identity and your personality is more on the side of your upbringing. We all have our own personality but I think we build it from interacting with others and getting the good out of others and trying to apply it to you. And I also believe that others can change your personality, not 100 percent. When we are kids, most of the time we tend to be raised by our parents and we believe everything they teach us is the right thing to do and so we grow with ideas and we are totally influenced by them, and we create our personality based on that. An example is that if you are a very educated person and you start hanging out with a group that lives doing things that are wrong and say inappropriate words, probably at some point you will unconsciously follow them to fit in or not. I think that's where your personality starts to be influenced by others. Obviously it can be positive too.

For me biological factors and our social environmet all influence on our personality and identity. For example if my mom is good at painting I would have more chances to develop that skill. Also, I believe that poeple are influenced by their social environment and because the way they are raised up. When we are little our families are our biggest influence, we want to do things as them and as we are little they are our first contacts with the world so we will problabbly think that what they do is right. By the time we grow up I think our biggest influences are our friends because they are the people we hang out with and sepnd most of the time. For example if everyone from my group of friends smoke, although they don't tell or push me to do it, I would still be preassure to smoke

In my opinion the way that you are raised or the environmet you were born does not has to do with how you identity or personality is. I belive that everyone has an option on who to be, if you want to be like your parents it okay, but you are not going to be like your parents just because they raised you. You choose who to be. For example you can be raides in a great enviroment, full of love and end up being a killer. Or the other way round, you are born in a horrible enviroment, your parents dont pay attention to you and they mistreat you, but you end up being the most kind and loving person. You always have an option, positive or negative. But its your choise who to be.

I think that is a combine of both. When you born, the way they raise you makes your personality and develope a identity.Genetics doesn't affect that much, but I think that certain genetics make a change in how you are.imagine that you were raised without affection, you will be a person detached towards others all your life even if you try this I don't think you can suddenly change to be affectionate with everyone because it has already become part of your identity and genetics has nothing to do with it But what genetics would have to do with it is if, for example, your father had stress problems due to a chemical gap, I'm sure you have it too and this affects you personally.

In my opinion biology doesn’t have much to do with one’s identity and personality. Biology can only affect the way someone is, if for instance they have an illness that affects the way they act and see their surroundings. Your instincts can only affect so much to the way you are.

On the other side I think that nurture affects a our identity/personality on another level. Your surroundings mold you as a person. The way they treat you, and the way everyone treats each other will make you think one way or another. If you grow up in a house full of stealers, then you will think that stealing is not that bad, If you grow up in an abusive household in the one they punish you for fighting back, then when you are older you may have a hard time when standing up for your self. If you grow up in a forest surrounded by animals, rather then an educated person, you will be more savage, will eat messily, etc
