Legend has it that it tends to disrupt the cooks' work, changing the containers of salt and sugar or making them burn the food.

Thus, Saci is the guardian of herbs and medicinal plants. He knows his handling and preparation techniques, as well as his use of medicines made from plants.

In many regions of Brazil, Saci is considered a maleficent character, as he keeps and takes care of the sacred herbs present in the forest and also, he usually disturbs and confuses the people who collect them without authorization.

The legend guarantees that to capture the Saci-pererê, the person must throw a sieve into the whirlwinds. In this way, after capturing it, it is necessary to remove the cap to secure it in a bottle.
