The mentor's role at this point is to scaffold choice-making.  Do not just tell them what to do and how to do  it.  Offer ideas and listen to theirs. I would ask her to think as she creates assignments and lessons what would success look. In order to see she was being successful in the classroom what data would you need to see you did a good job?          <title>This is where my mentee and I interact the most - both of us learn from one another on a weekly basis.  In addition, we are fortunate to have our entire department work with each other with this quadrant; so many of us work with each other (even if we are not teaching the same grade level) so that we have continuity throughout.  This is one of our most positive parts of our mentor-mentee relationship. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Asking questions was a successful mentor move throughout the semester.  New teachers become overwhelmed trying to put everything into every lesson and reaching the level of burn out.  I would revert back to asking, "What is the purpose of...?"  This helped the candidate eliminate unnecessary busy work that became a paperwork and grading nightmare.</div>]]></description>
