I have ESOL learners in my GCSE and FSENG classes. I tend to speak very clearly anyway, but this session made me realise how much more important it is. Also, the checking for understanding counts on two levels with ESOL learners. I create visual PowerPoints but now I can incorporate the use of images for language support. With my FSENG group that has a lot of additional needs, I intend to use this technique too while they study for the reading exam.

I was concerned about being able to differentiate more for my ESL learners, and have been pointed in the right direction.
