Spelt how it sounds, The Isthmus of Tehuantepec connects the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico which for Republicans is the Gulf of America. The isthmus goes through parts of Oaxca and Veracruz and is approximately 137 miles (220km) wide. the key geological positions inside the Isthmus are the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca, Tehuantepec Gap, Laguna Superior, as well as other flat and fetile low lands. The isthmus was historically used for navigating between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans before the Panama Canal.

Currently, the isthmus is a cultural hotbed for the indigenous Zapotec and Mixe Cultures who have managed to preserve their indigenous languages in the region. The Zapotec are historically more matriarchial then european societies, and also recognize a third gender Muxe people which is where men live as women.

Economically speaking, while it's not as crucial as it was before the Panama Canal, there is currently an effort to revitalize the route as a viable alternative to the Panama Canal.

The Tehuano winds are caused by high-pressure systems over North America, which push air through the Chivela Pass, there exists the tehuano wind, which are caused by high pressure systems over North America which push air through the Chivela Pass with the winds reaching from 60-100Mph (which is how fast a Cheetah runs to a MLB pitcher fastball) which makes it perfect for wind farms, and it is the location of one of Latin America's' isthmus one, ma and its small s of the windiest places on earths biggest wind energy projects.
