         <description><![CDATA[<p>The industry that I chose to research in terms of Artificial Intelligence(AI) is education. I chose this industry because I want to become an English teacher in the future and think it is important to learn about how AI is being used and incorporated because it will have an impact on my future career. In my Padlet wall I will cover examples of AI usage in a classroom setting, future trends and ethical considerations that must be thought of when implementing AI in the industry of education and lastly the societal impact that it will have for future generations to come. Education has the power to prepare students for their future and teach them critical thinking skills that can universally be applied to any type of field or industry. As a future English teacher I hope to instruct students on how to communicate effectively and efficiently while also teaching analysis skills that can be applied to many different domains. That is why the industry of education is particularly significant to me and why I am interested to see how AI will be implemented and in a way that is ethically correct so that students are able to benefit from AI usage and for it to be used as a tool instead of students relying solely on AI to help complete assignments. AI can be extremely beneficial in the classroom especially for students with learning disabilities or English language learners because sometimes these students can be neglected by the educator but with AI students can have instructions thoroughly explained so that these students do not fall behind and the teacher does not stop the classroom instruction for further explanation for students. AI has great potential when used responsibly and I hope to learn about the impact AI will have on my future career in education.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>1st example of AI Usage: Education - AI Tutoring System

         <description><![CDATA[<p>-AI tutoring systems are being implemented in the field of education, examples of tutoring systems are ChaptGPT and khanmigo which are able to use natural language and machine learning to give students personalized feedback while adapting to different learning styles. They allow students to understand difficult concepts while meeting students at their own pace. Different studies (Zawacki-Richter et al 2024 and Microsoft, 2025) show how students using these systems are more engaged while also being accessible to different learning styles. The benefits of implementing these programs are that each student receives individualized learning, with instant feedback which allows teachers to have more free time reducing workload as a whole. Challenges are privacy concerns and how data is being stored, this can also cause students to heavily rely on AI not using any critical thinking skills or actively learning. There can also be bias in training data which can generate inaccurate results for students.&nbsp;</p><p>-Personal Insights: My personal opinion on the matter of implementing AI Tutoring Systems in educational institutions is that it can be extremely beneficial for both educator and student. Teachers that have students that may need extra help or instruction have a difficult time with time management because they may not have the time to help these students while also instructing the remainder of the class. When used responsibly AI tutoring systems are helping all people involved in the process of learning as long as these systems are being monitored by educators and used responsibly AI has the power to make learning a more effective process.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>2nd example of AI Usage: Education - Automated Assessment and Feedback</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>-AI grading tools use machine learning and natural language processing to evaluate and grade student assignments such as essays, quizzes and code submissions. The feedback that is given to students is instant and can improve student writing while also helping teachers with the grading time. The benefits of automated assessment with feedback is that it is a faster process compared to traditional grading methods and it has consistent scoring standards that are the same for all students, this is especially helpful for large class sizes online. Challenges with implementing these systems are that these AI platforms can misunderstand or interpret creativity or the message that students are trying to convey in their work. Because of this it is necessary for teachers to constantly monitor and review AI generated responses to ensure fairness and transparency. Teachers must prevent any misuse of AI and maintain student integrity.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>-Personal Insights: In my personal field of English Education it is difficult to implement automated assessment and feedback for written assignments because writing is a personal process that is creative and completely dependent on the writer which in this case is the student. I think that for essays and written assignments teachers should be the sole person grading the assignment. Writing allows for students to express themselves in a vulnerable way, it practices critical thinking skills and how to effectively communicate. If teachers have a very large workload they can use AI platforms for the more technical portion of grading for written assignments but the rest should be graded by hand to ensure creativity and student voice is not lost. This way feedback can be more effective even if it may take longer.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>3rd Example of AI Usage: Education - Predictive Learning Analytics

         <description><![CDATA[<p>-Universities are beginning to increase the use of predictive analytics which uses machine learning to monitor student attendance, participation and grades to show which students could possibly be at risk earlier. These systems are able to guide students that need early support and improve their progression rate(Microsoft, 2025; Pitts et al., 2025). The benefits of these predictive learning analytics are personalized advising and enhancement of equity for all students so that they are more likely to succeed. Challenges of implementing these programs in education are potential privacy violations with bias and transparency between educational institutions and students(U.S. Department of Education, 2023; PMC, 2023). There must be clear consent along with educators to constantly be monitoring to ensure that there is no ethical oversight.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Personal Insights: I personally believe that Predictive Learning Analytics can be very beneficial when used in universities because it allows for students to gauge where they stand in a class, which is especially useful in large lecture classes where professor student relationships are not very personal or essential. As long as these programs are used with student consent with transparency on how data is being used it will make the educational process simplified for professor and student. I also think the process should be overseen by the professor or another department head to ensure there are no issues or misuse of data.&nbsp; As long as there is clear communication there should be no issues and it will ensure that student expectations are met with standards of attendance, participation and grades.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>-AI in education is predicted to be heavily implemented and used in order to match each student at whatever level they may be. AI platforms will be personalized, data driven in order to create responsible learning environments. In Zawacki-Richter et al. (2024) and the U.S. Department of Education (2023) it states how classrooms will focus on having adaptive learning environments, AI literacy and human AI collaboration. Teachers will now be able to use AI to generate classroom content that will be beneficial to each student that enhances academic support for students with all types of learning styles. When implementing AI it is important to consider ethical implications such as data privacy and compromising educational standards because of AI, students and teachers should be held to the same standards with or without the use of AI in the classroom. AI will definitely change the way in which educational institutions operate, but this is why it is crucial to have open communication so that everyone is aware of how AI data and platforms are going to be used and impact all individuals.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>-Personal Insights: I believe that AI holds the power to benefit both students and educators because of the way it is able to provide support to each individual based on their personal strengths and weaknesses. Both teachers and students must remember to use AI ethically and responsibly so that everything remains to be fair and without bias. There should always be transparency and accountability when using AI in the classroom so that it can be used as a tool rather than a way for all individuals to simply rely on AI to complete tasks at hand.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Artificial Intelligence(AI) has played a large impact in the way society now operates affecting people all over the world in numerous ways and industries. AI is now beginning to be implemented in the industry of education which is able to provide students with a more personalized and individualized learning experience which can adapt to specific learning needs. This is especially helpful for students who have learning disabilities or English language learners. However AI also has challenges of whether or not it is ethical and if sensitive data is being stored responsibly. With more and more teachers using AI when creating classroom content it can impact jobs that are available because of AI simplifying specific roles or AI can also have the potential to strengthen teaching and learning as a whole. AI has the power to bridge gaps and bring students to the same level to learn in the classroom when used responsibly.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Personal Insights: When implementing AI in any industry especially education it is important to balance individuality and creativity while using AI technology to enhance and simplify tasks. As a future educator my biggest concern is to have students be able to convey their thoughts and feelings with or without AI, AI should not be heavily relied on. I believe that critical thinking is essential to prepare students for the rest of their lives and with AI it is able to enhance this process but students should not become too comfortable with only using technology to complete their tasks. AI should be used responsibly in a fair manner so that students can benefit from this advanced technology rather than relying too heavily on AI platforms to do the leg work.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Throughout my research process I learned of the different types of impacts that AI has on the education industry specifically. When thinking of AI in terms of education I had never realized how important it is to have privacy with specific and sensitive data. This is to protect students and educators from any false information or conclusions that may be made from data. Through my research process I did not encounter any issues because of how many resources and information have been published about implementing AI platforms into the classroom. I think that AI can be implemented if used responsibly and sparingly. Students and educators should not have to rely on AI for every assignment or task but rather just use AI as a brainstorming tool or a way to convey specific information that may be difficult. AI should not be directly generating answers or doing the majority of the work, this is to ensure student voice and creativity is maintained. This way students will understand how to use AI and how to critically think for their futures which will best prepare them.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>]]></description>
