My aspirations in music as a whole is to sell a bunch of albums write a bunch of bangers and sell out Wembley but more importantly Sixfields

My dream job in music is 100% to be in a successful band i cant see my self doing anything else its the only thing im good at and the only thing ive ever dreamed about

I want to achieve this because i had a terrible time at school and ending leaving in year 9 , by doing that i picked up the guitar again and for a long time playing was the only thing that excited me i just couldn't wait to play every day and i still feel the same now . So in many ways music and specifically the guitar saved my life

I belive i will achieve these things by playing every day writing new songs every now and then and pushing myself as far as i can. It would also help to be able to do that with my bestfriend as we both smashed it and pushed eachother to the max last year

Song no 1

I saw here standing there - The beatles

I love this song because it reminds me of my girlfriend and i also love to play it on the guitar

The song starts of with a catchy riff and a mega bassline but almost as interesting (for guitarists) it prodomitly uses 7th chords with the most used one being E7

There is also a really cool solo before the last chorus that adds more power the song

The lyric 'id never dance with another' makes me think of my girlfriend and the rest of the lyrics are just banging theyre so easy to sing and as i said the song is so fun to play on the guitar

Song 2

Poppy - Wunderhorse

i mean come on you cant not like this song it just makes you feel relaxed and its such an easy listen perfect song to just sit and stare out the window into nothing

It starts with Jacob slater singing softly and a slow guitar riff before the rest of the band join in and it gets louder towards the chorus then its slightly stripped back before the loudness kicks back in and they start playing this awesome solo.

The Lyric 'with you' is sang over and over in this soft voice that's almost psychedelic proper hits the spot man.

I dont think i could name one thing wrong with this song

First of all this is my favourite performance of all time and is in fact the best performance of all time if you disagree you are wrong and especially not forgetting the legendary JOHN SQUIRE who played with them that night

This is the final song of the night and Liam starts of by Thanking the crowd and telling them he'll see them tomorrow followed by the song name and saying 'Love and peace forever see you later, all youse lot at the back all youse to the left all youse to the right all youse bang in the middle goodbye and take care of yourself' This shows great stage presence and crowd control by Liam as he's not trying to cause aggravation between fans as i imagine they has not trying to start any aggravation bd all been stood there for along time crowded up to each other but he's also making them feel as if they are apart of the band and they are all playing together

Noel then gets the crowd to show there appreciation to the other band who was on that night and then Liam says expect the ones that was ' Shaking my caravan big time out the back the twats' noel reply's with see you later then kicks in with some feed back noise while Liam says god knows what before Alan white counts in and the whole band start to play that wicked intro that was played on the mellotron but the refined it to be more rock and roll

Liam starts singing and the whole band sounds electric some might say. The orchestra they have playing with them sound amazing and everything works extremely well together. If you thought the intro was incredible Little by little it gets even better.

Liams calm and collected not mesmerised by the moment , everyone in the crowd is either singing along or dancing JOHN SQUIRE is there Noel joins in at the chorus with some woos while Liam sings i am the egg man

For the rest of the song the whole vibe never changes Liams playing his tambourine and everyone is loving what will become one of the most monumental moments in music history

At the end of the song Liam finishes singing and flips his mic stand over while the rest of the band carry on playing he then starts walking around the stage giving it the biggen kicking things about he then climbs of the stage and starts tickling a camera man before hoping back and walking about some more and then standing there taking it all in.

The band then take a bow and applaud the crowd before waving and walking off.

Noel says ' see ya tommra' and then Liam says ' give it up for JOHN SQUIRE'

As i said this is THE BEST performance of all time and if you say otherwise you are extremely wrong

In my personal opinion the performance went really well Elise sounded great and max played the right bassline but it was a shame to not have elleana preforming with us she would have killed it

We had planned to do bittersweet symphony from the start and throughout the weeks me and Elise wrote an original

Everyone had to adjust as we had guy playing the fiddle and Ricky on the drums but it all went really well and we sounded great

I think I could of maybe practiced the song more although I was only 4 chords but I kinda kept changing the strumming pattern trying to follow the fiddle but it was okay and want that noticeable

We hadn't really rehearsed bittersweet symphony in the practice sessions we was focused mainly on the original so for it to turn. out how it did I am amazed and proud of max and Elise

Everyone memorised there parts and played them beautifully and for their first time being assessed on a performance Id say everyone was confident and believed in there ability to go up there and put on the best performance they could. As for myself I didn't feel nervous I just felt at peace and that I had to go and do the best I could or what was the point.

Even though we hadn't planned the end of the song we finished together and there wasn't any awkward who's ending it somehow we all stopped at the same time.

we planned the beginning of the song with me starting off and everyone else joining in.

The original

We hadn't played this together not on stage in like 3 weeks by the way so the way it turned out was amazing

Starting off the song i remember thinking the camera was recording and i played it beautifully and then like halfway through my intro Elise turns to me and says you know we are not recording right so i felt a bit stupid there but when the camera was recording i played the intro wrong which i never do cause i wrote the song but it wasn't that bad of a mistake i brung it back around and fixed it

Elise and max joined in and she done this great like sort of humming moaning thing before she started singing which sounded amazing and then she started singing and sounded great man like she was meant to be there

My stage presence throughout the performance was terrible i was in a horrible mood Monday and it carried through on stage which in future i need to fix

I play the same chords throughout the whole song and i only really messed up on the intro but apart from that i kept the tempo and the rhythm throughout the whole song and played it fine

Elise and max sounded great max kept the bassline and made no mistakes and Elise just sounded amazing and sung the lyrics that she wrote perfectly

I ended the song by strumming the guitar harder because in that moment i felt all the emotion and i needed to let it out

right there i wished i was playing a more heavy song maybe July by Wunderhorse because of how i felt i wanted to let it out and sing and shout my heart out while playing my guitar which most likely would of got smashed but i didn't and i wasn't i was playing the song that me and Elise wrote together and that's all that mattered in the moment and we preformed it beautifully

I struggled a lot more than i thought i would

at times the work seemed to much and kept getting on top of me. I still continue to dislike logic and that hasn't changed at all but overall i feel happy to be back

There's been ups like meeting new people and making new friends there's been downs like Evan not being accepted but i feel like this term has gone pretty good

Right at the start being put into bands by guy was the best thing that could of happened there was no awkward do you want to be in a band with me or being left out everyone had a band straight away and got into it and started playing together which cleared up so much anxiety and worry what with starting alone. Even though i knew all the tutors and that it was still hard what with Tyler being on tech and Evan not coming back i did feel alone to start with.

The first couple padlet tasks was easy enough but it was just taking a while for me to get back into the groove and motivation after being off for so long which has continued throughout this assignment

I've found it hard to concentrate and kinda motivate myself to be able to do the work and to my own misfortune I've left it to the last minute countless times

I don't know why that's been the case as im fully committed to music id be lost without it cause I'm litterly not good at anything else but somethings just been holding me back and I've been slower working because of it

I have enjoyed this first term and i hope to enjoy the rest i just need to properly focus on completing the work straight away because right now its 2:17 and I've got to be in at 9:15 tomorrow but i have work to do

On more positive notes all the preforming and playing with others i did last year have massively helped my confidence towards preforming. i feel as though i can help people who have not preformed before because i know exactly how they feel and what they are thinking when it comes to preforming Infront of others

I look forward to the first gig outside of college so i can be that sort of mentor figure where its not just tutors saying its going to be okay but a classmate who maybe some people feel they can speak more openly too cause that's who i want to be i want to be someone others can speak to about performing and hopefully help them and motivate them to be better and put more into there performances and to not be so nervous about performing

Health and safety

Health and safety means putting steps in place to keep people safe and prevent unnecessary injury. This is extremely important in the music industry as we work with electronics and constant hazards all the time

1, Fires - As i say constantly working with electrics and so many different inputs and outputs all it takes is and overload of power or one dodgy cable to cause a a fire and then there needs to be fire exits so people can get out of the fire

2, Food drinks - Spillages are very dangerous as a performer could be walking about on stage and slip and hurt themselves or you could be at your soundboard and spil your drink on your sound desk and the whole gig is ruined so bottled water is a must with the cap tightly screwed on

3, Cables - With terrible cable management that is a constant trip hazard if you have a singer who likes to prance about and you have cables lying around they could trip and harm them selves so use ductape and put that over your cables adds a bit of extra time on taking everything down but it stops so many potential injury's

4, Heavy amps - tech teams are always carrying heavy amps and drum kits which when dropped on a foot or a hand or even another person can cause serious damage so i would suggest putting wheels or a carrier thing with wheels to mitigate the chance of the amps being dropped and back pain for the tech teams

5, Old guitar strings - guitar strings snap and sometimes when the snap or they are not cut properly and the end they can poke someone's eye or slash your hand as it snaps from your bridge so changing strings every few months will help with that. You can prevent it I've had a string snap like 2 hours after its been put on but changing them regularly helps with them not snapping all the time

6, Sound and ears - We work with very loud equipment and without ear protection and sound control your gonna damage your ears which you need by the way so you need to control your sound and or wear proper ear protection

Mental and physical health is so important not just in the music industry but in general if we are talking about mental health it would be rude not to mention the 27 club where so many musicans dont make it past 27 because theyre struggling mentally. Or if we are talking physical health its some sort of a trend that when you become a big rockstar you then become a massive alcoholic or you abuse drugs most of the time both there are so many examples of both of these in the music world

Amy whinehouse

Kurt Cobain

The whole of motley crue

OZZY OSBOURNE

Keith Richards

and that's not even a start

all these musicians either struggled with substance abuse before fame or started taking these things to help with dealing with the fame

If i was to reach that level of fame i would try to focus solely on my work and putting my all into music for the people but sometimes its just not that easy for people to do
