Like A Virgin is a com-tradegy looking at a friendship based on some rocky foundations. Two friends Angela and maxine appear to breeze through life worried only about sex and becoming as famous as Madonna. Angela and maxine are emotionally done. Their friendship is tested When Angela finds out she is soon to die.

Angela is diagnosed with myeloid leukaemia.  It is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It is characterised by an overproduction of immature white blood cells called myeloblasts or leukamoc blasts.   • The more I find subjective identification, the more I belive that " I am alive in that time".

THE CHARACTER 


  • Find out information on character. I must ask myself " who am I" " where was she born".
  • Aim is to give myself new roots, to make all the elements of "my life" up to the plays beginning as concrete as I can.
  • Must investigate "my" subconscious needs and the things I don't want to fave about "myself".
  • Give me the faith that " I am"
  • Find the questions in the play and solve them for himself with identification. 
  • To bring about a new me with solid roots it should not be discussed with the playwright or director. It must stay a secret.

THE MAIDS PLAYWRIGHT.


The maids was written by a French dramatist called Jean Genet. Born December 1910-15 April 1986. He wad a vagabond and petty criminal. Other plays he wrote was The Balcony, The maids and the screens.

His play " The maids " was based on the infamous sisters, Christine and leá papin, who murdered their employer and daughter in France 1933.

The maids is a play about theatricality and illusion. At the time Genet was bossed with darker corners of human sexuality and sexuality instinct.


STYLE AND GENRE

The Genre of the play " The maids" is absurdist drama.
In "The maids" the absurdity theme is pursued by a sort of reversal of values in which good is attacked and evil is positively pursued.

ANALYSE PLAY ( PLAYANALYSIC)

THEME: OTHERNESS AND WHIRLIGIGS

Both maids are " others". Not only are they "others" to Madame but are to themselves. The sisters play each other as Claire calls sonance Claire.
Genet posits that their identities follow the course of " whirligig". Meaning that they alter positions in a circular pattern. The first sister adapts her self to second sisters behaviour and then the second sisters adapts herself newly to the first.



The maids Is filled with illusion created by by the maids as a way to combat their oppressive circumstances. The illusion craft is so powerful it confuses both sisters as Claire several times refers to sonance as "Claire".

HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT

The pain sisters story drew attention to national headlines in France during the time of when common classes were hard and fast and the lower classes were seen as " less-than human mentality ", animal like and criminal behaviour.
The sisters described their actions as self defence against their angry and abusive mistress.
The communist party at the time had seen these girls as victims of Gender Oppression in a time when
Civil Rights for women in France lagged behind.
Genet, a social outcast, found inspiration in the story of the papin sisters.

Because I had my script the lady at the panel found it hard to score me and let me know that whatever the excuse was, "The show must go on." she told me how that was a saying in theatre. 
Other than that she said that she liked the way I looked and how I presented my self. She scored me a five.
