This is a great article that explains different tech tools that can be used in Kindergarten for different things. My co workers and I would use this to pick programs to test out before using them. In addition, committees are formed to evaluate use of a program before money is spent on it.

The website describe these as "Activities based on students' real world experiences or current issues." These use real data and seek to solve real-life problems. This learning involves solving local and global real world problems." (Ghulin, 2023)

The article goes on to point out that you can achieve this through project based learning. You can achieve this by: 1.Finding a real world problem to solve 2. Researching to gain background knowledge. 3. Explore ways to solve problems and create rubrics for what success will look like!

An example for my class would be solving the problem of food shortages in animal shelters. We could connect this to our community helpers unit, conduct research, and use online apps to make graphs on how many of each type of food we need to collect.
