They fit right in the middle of the food chain. Like the bear drops, you know what, then a worm comes and eats it. In this example the worm is the decomposer. Some decomposers are worms,  Bacteria, and fungi. If decomposers were not in a food chain the poop, or waste, would be all around with nobody to pick it up or eat it. In conclusion,  The waste in nature gets eaten by worms, and other tiny animals. insects can also eat the waste too.
