I’m from Kansas City, where my dad still lives. I also have an older sister, Jess, who goes to the University of Arkansas, too! We are big Kansas City Chiefs fans, as you can see from the picture! The drive from Fayetteville to Kansas City only takes about three and a half hours, so I am not too far from home.

Why did I become a teacher?

I’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little! In high school, I got to volunteer and even take classes that allowed me to help in elementary classrooms as a student teacher. During the summers, I nanny three awesome boys, and here in Fayetteville, I get to be a mentor to a sweet girl named Denae. I just love spending time with kids, which is why teaching is the perfect job for me!

The "Student" in "Student Teacher"

Even though I come to school each day as a student teacher, Miss Borchers is a student too! I’m a sophomore at the University of Arkansas and a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. I am learning new skills every day to be a better student teacher for you now—and for my own classroom in the future!
