So I decided to start swimming competitively again and compete in the North Shore Swim Series. I hadn't competed in 4 years so I was quite out of shape. After training for two months I had gotten back into decent swimming shape, but not good enough to do well. At the end of the season they cancelled the last race. I was sad for a moment but decided to go and do the swim by myself. It was serendipitous and I got to swim with the UH Swim Coach and a Member from team elite, but what was truly great was that we got to swim with a huge pod of dolphins. I have a friend that is so positive and up beat, but ironically never seems to learn from her mistakes. She's a former drug and alcohol addict. She always claims she has changed, yet I find that every week she has the same drama or problems, and cannot seem to see that she does the same thing over and over again. Its ironic because I know how hard it is to change. Yet every week I see the same thing being done. I am however not as delusional optimistic as she is. I find it pointless to try to help, but every week she says I am being negative. Yet, its like dealing with a crazy person. I have had to accept that she'll never change nor grow and will continue to make bad decisions. I think what is funny about it was that I knew that she was delusional from day one. My delusion was that she could change if she knew what she was doing. Hahaha.
