I think that having a daycare inside the nursing home is such a perfect idea. It shows that children and elders can interact with each other generation. Children are still developing and trying to learn. Two activities that both generations can do together are singing a log, painting, and preparing food together.

I also think that having a daycare in the same area as a nursing home is a good idea. I believe that this is a good idea because a lot of elderly people that are in nursing homes can be lonely, and I feel that they need to have some interaction with others. Two possible activities that can be done with the children for all generations is making cards for each other for example the children making Christmas cards for the elderly people in the nursing home. Another activity that can be done is bringing the children Christmas caroling to the elderly people at the nursing home.

I also could do an activity where my students can make their grandparents a sculpture as a present by using air dry clay.

I thought it was so nice to see how the younger generation can have an incredible impact on the older generation by providing each other company when they can’t always see or visit their families.

I think that putting the two age groups together is a really smart idea. It exposes the kids to frailness and other disorders you can get at an older age so they don't become afraid of this when they are older. It lets the residents to interact and give them some happiness.

I believe that having a daycare in the same area as a nursing home is a good idea. Its a good idea to be able to have the kids interact with other people other then just their family and their daycare. having the kids help is a good way for them to learn in different ways such as communication, physically and both fine&gross motor skills. Two activities that get the different generation to interact would consist of painting (finger painting), or making food (such as sandwiches). I could have the kids help their grandparents make little snacks to possibly take back to the nursing home.

Something interested that was in the video was how the elders were so excited to see the preschoolers having fun at the retirement home. The elders were happily willing to help take care of the kids and do activities with them.
Some activities that I think that can be incorporated into class are elders doing any crafting activities with the little kids and/or have a small story time by either reading books too the preschooler or telling them stories.

Having generations work together is very important. Children get to spend time learning from older generations while older generations get to experience new life again. There are a few ways you could incorporate generations into the classroom. You could have a parents day where the child's parent gets to learn to teach their children things or help them play. You also could do a day of appreciation for the child's grandparents. Another activity you could do is have the children create a gift for a person in a different generation, that could be their parents, grandparents, family friend, teacher, and so on.

The idea of having a daycare combined with a nursing home is a great idea for plenty of reasons. It's good for kids to interact with older adults, and gives the elderly something more to do. In my opinion when I get older this would be something I would be willing to do. would you?

I think that being able to interact with children is an amazing. I think that the way that they can be able to see the kids at any time is something that probably warms the elderly. One activity that I think would be to decorate a christmas tree. I think that it would be a cute idea, making ornaments to put on the tree, making a song with the elderly would also be a nice gesture.

I really like the idea of having a daycare inside of a nursing home due to the unique opportunities that it presents. It provides a special opportunity for the youngsters and their ability to bond and form relationships with the elderly and learn from them. The elderly also may not be able to be as lucky to have children and grandchildren close by so the opportunity to spend time with the young children can really have positive benefits for them. I think that making crafts like cards or pictures can work on fine motor skills and help the children create relationships with the elderly. Another activity that is beneficial is like the video showed is having the elderly read to the children as it can promote communication with the older generations.

I think that it is so sweet how positively both groups are impacted by being around each other. Because it gives the older people a sense of companionship and fun. And it gives the younger ones the ability to bond with more people and have fun. And that way you know that it is less likely for people to feel isolated or lonely. One idea could be like gardening or planting together. And another idea could be similar to a grandparents day except it could be with people from a nursing home and everyone could get together and do crafts and sing and things like that.
