Scenario 2: Routine with my daughter

Reflection Scenario 1:

Repairing this interview was more that a academic homework, was as I watch a mirror. I saw myself imagining each question, thinking as I would answer If I were really there, in front of someone that may change my future. Speak english in a situation is like opening a window in a new version of oneself, one who dares to dream and express it. I realized something important, in an interview, the words weight, but transmit sincerity or confidence, the message lost that’s why I try of to visualize the scene: The nervous smile, the racing heart, the quite hands about the legs. This human part also is language.

Sometimes we believe to speak English means perfect dream, but not, it means a live dream. This exercise help me to find a balance between the correct and the emotional. I practice is not only sentences, but illusions: Such as “Thanks” can dream thanks or as a pause can express respect.

To the final, I understand that this not speak only the language, but to believe in my history. The interviews pass, also the nervous, but the that one learn of oneself while prepare it’s stay and leave a deep imprint in the heart.

Reflection Scenario 2:

This scenario touched me in a very personal way, because we’ve all experienced that moment of feeling ill and needing relief. Seeing a doctor isn’t just a matter of symptoms; it’s also a matter of trust.

Speaking English in a situation like this made me understand that the language isn’t just for studying, but for life itself.

I learn that the empathy also transmits words. Sometimes, a short phrase as “take care” can contain more dear that on entire speech. I remember my grandma, that always she knows to say with only little loud words. This is what communication should feel like, as a gesture of caring. Also I think in the people that they can’t explain the that feel in other language. This silent would be very hard. Know to express in english in a medical appointment is not only a skill, is a form of improvement. Means may care of oneself, even for of home.

Work in this dialogue I feel me see the English since other perspective. I don’t see as some academic, but as a tool to connect with the others.

Because, to the final, the words also can cure, above all when born of the empathy and the honesty.

Scenario 2: Booking a Hotel Room

Reflection scenario 1:

The bus ticket scenario presented a realistic and practical everyday situation that many people may encounter when traveling. One of its strengths is how clear and direct the interaction was, which fits well with the context. In situations like catching a bus, especially when under time pressure, brief and to-the-point conversations are appropriate. The vocabulary I used was simple and relevant to the situation, including terms like “ticket,” “departure,” and “destination.”

The tone was polite overall, but the beginning of the conversation could be improved by adding a more natural and courteous greeting. For instance, instead of immediately asking for a ticket, I could say, “Good morning, could you please help me buy a ticket to...?” This adds a layer of politeness and reflects better communication skills.

The grammar used throughout was mostly accurate. However, the sentence “the scenario was hold at the beginning” should be corrected to “the scenario was held at the beginning.” Also, in the closing of the scenario, it would have been more natural to say something like, “Thank you, that was very helpful,” to conclude the interaction politely.

This activity helped me imagine how I would communicate in a foreign country while managing daily tasks. It reinforced practical vocabulary and increased my confidence in handling quick, real-life exchanges in English.

Reflection scenario two:

This scenario felt very real and useful and I enjoyed doing it because booking a hotel is something I know I’ll need to do when I travel. I had to give important details like the room type, dates, and how many nights I would stay. I also asked for the total cost and how to make the payment. The conversation moved in a clear order, which helped me follow the flow easily.

I used polite expressions like “Yes, please” and “I really appreciate it,” and I made sure to confirm all the details before finishing the booking. The receptionist was also clear and professional, explaining the final amount, the deposit, and the steps to complete the payment. It made the conversation feel respectful and efficient.

One area I could improve is using more specific language. For example, instead of saying “That sounds wonderful,” I could say “That works perfectly for my budget.” I also realized I need to get more comfortable giving personal information like my full name and birthdate smoothly in English.

Overall, this scenario helped me feel more confident about making hotel bookings and reminded me how important it is to speak clearly and ask for what I need.

The protagonist, Marcos Tejo, works in a cold storage facility where there are no animals, only humans, and society has divided the world between those who eat and those who are eaten. This novel is a social critique that analyzes dehumanization and hypocrisy through the story of this cannibalistic world.

For example, the phrase “in which humanity is overwhelmed by a virus that sickens all existing animals” could be simplified to improve fluency. In addition, the use of transition words such as "furthermore" or “on the other hand” could help connect ideas more smoothly. Overall, the communication is clear, formal, and appropriate, but could be strengthened with greater fluency and more concise wording.
