Brighton & Hove Buses

Brighton & Hove Buses are the reliable public transport company to travel in the city and the surroundings. There are bus stops everywhere, so you can get to any part of the city you want.

Get a ticket

All you need to use this service is either download the app on your phone to get a mobile ticket (https://www.buses.co.uk/app) or go to the 1 Stop Travel Shop to get a Key smart-card (https://www.buses.co.uk/1-stop-travel-shop). We advise students to download the app and get a mobile ticket because it is more convenient since you can pay online, see live departures, plan your journey and check timetables.
Students can get great savings of up to 25% off bus tickets with a valid Student ID card.

Type of bus ticket

There are two types of bus tickets: citySAVER Tickets and networkSAVER Tickets. The ticket you need depends on the area you want to travel to, as seen on the map: http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/images.buses.co.uk/downloads/citysavernetworkmap_3.pdf.

Flexibility and advice

You will have the flexibility to purchase a ticket for one travel, 24 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 7 days, 28 days, 90 days, or 12 months. We advise you to think about how often you need to use the bus because the longer the period, the greater the discount. For example, if you need to use the bus for the next 3 months and you live in Peacehaven, it is cheaper to buy a 90-day networkSAVER mobile ticket (£149) than buying a 1-day networkSAVER mobile ticket (£3.75) for each day of the three months: if you multiply £3.75 by the 90 days of the 3 months, that is £337.5. So, it saves you a lot, just buying the 90-day ticket.

Student fares: https://www.buses.co.uk/students
