Big Ben has the full name is the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster is a structure of the clock tower in the North-East side of the houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, England and the new name is the Elizabeth Tower.

Besides, the shape of the statue of liberty is as same as a woman’s appearance. That is the woman wearing a cloak, and this cloak is representative of Libertas. The liberties of Roman with the right-hand holds the torch, and the left hand will hold a slab of slate which depicted the interval of independence in America.

We choose America, particularly, the Statue of Liberty because this is the work that expressed the freedom of humans. Everyone has private freedom rights to maintain and enjoy on our own lives that they want. Furthermore, people are equal and we don’t discriminate against anything. Therefore, this statue is representative of the equality and freedom that people want. Moreover, it demolished conflicts and oppressive life in the past so that it can develop and convert a peaceful life without wars and conflicts. This is a statue that exposes a savage freedom symbol all over the world, and it is also a pride of Americans.

  “Australian Snow Globe”

The product which 19DTAC2 brought to the Culturefest Poster Gallery competition has a theme about Australia. The concept of this poster has the main Christmas snow globe background, things inside show the unique characteristics of Australia: Nature, people, food and architecture. Those are highlighted by way of:

- Iconic architectural works: Opera Sydney Shell-House;

- Food diversity (Australian cuisine is heavily influenced by British cuisine);

- Australian origin: Australians today are the combination of a small number of Aboriginal Australians; Britain; People from Africa and South America (Those who were slaves of the British Colonists in history);

- Some features of animals.

Big Ben Tower - Did you understand it?
 Surely we are no stranger to the Big Ben tower in England, a symbol of the land of fog, but whether you already know this hundred-year-old tower, let's join us. Let's explore.

 About history
 The tower was built in 1843 and finished in 1859.

●      Although known as Big Ben, this is just the name of one of the 5 heaviest and largest bells out of the 5 on the top of the tower.

●      On June 4, 2012, the tower was renamed Elizabeth Tower, commemorating 60 years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

●      This name change made the Queen emotional after hearing the news (According to Daily Mail).

●      The tower is divided into 3 parts: Elizabeth Tower, big belly, and big clock, and all 3 parts were later called Elizabeth Tower (2012)
 With Gothic architecture, the tower was designed by a genius British architect Augustus Pugin.

●       The surrounding 4 clock faces are all set with square stone blocks with a side of 7 m and 576 pieces of transparent glass.

●      When the sun goes down, you can completely see the sepia colour radiating from the four dials even from a distance.

●      Especially during construction, the words "God protect our Queen Victoria" were engraved on each side of the bottom of the clock face.

a)     Geographical location

The Victorian era, in British history, was the period from about 1820 to 1914.

It was characterized by a class-based society and at the moment Britain was the most powerful empire in the world.

In Victorian times, there were three distinct social classes:

- Upper class

- Middle class

- Lower class

Let's learn more about these 3 social classes:

•      Lower classes:

In terms of housing, lower-class families often live in damp, dirty apartments and have to share public bathrooms.

As for food, they were only allowed to eat bread, potatoes and vegetables, sometimes they had to eat rotten leftovers.

In terms of clothing, the clothes they wear are secondhand. If they got damaged they had to be patched up or mended. They were dark colors to hide the dirt.

•      Middle class:

During the 19th century, members of the middle class were the moral leaders of society including doctors, lawyers, bankers, factory owners, merchants and shopkeepers, etc. Anh they enjoy a more lavish lifestyle.

Men carry pocket watches and handkerchiefs.

Women usually wear silk or satin dresses.

•      Upper class:

They were called the aristocracy.

They don't have to work, they live in castles.

They have many servants or slaves to serve their lives.

Their dresses are always meticulous, extravagant, sophisticated with many colorful motifs.

So to conclude, the Victorian era led to a distinct class system in England, which consisted of 3 classes: upper class, middle class and lower class.
