- A small kit/box can be provided for each child.
- Children can learn to be independent to keep items/toys back into each of their boxes after activity or play is done.
- Children can have individualised items and do their own role play and create their own story using their own creativity.
- Children can re-enact the story and recall events within the story while teacher facilitates.
- Teacher can use the props instead of reading from a story book.
- Children can use the items and play with the items within the box instead of just listening to teacher telling the story.
- Teacher can work with parents to create the box and involve parents in child's learning.
- Concrete items can show the visible difference between sizes when teaching concepts.
- Encourages, language development, creativity, imagination, recall & recognition skills, maths skills (size & number), emotional & social development (as different scenarios are explored) & offers open ended play.
Disadvantages:
- To find boxes of suitable size for each child. Might take up space for storage.
- To create a kit/box for each child might be time consuming. Parents might not have the time to find items for this activity.
- Not everyone has teddy bear toys of different sizes.
- Children might just play with the toys instead of reflecting and referring to the story of Goldilocks.
- Activity has to be facilitated for a structured play and to reinforce concepts.

Modifications:
- Instead of using teddy bears and a doll, children can create their own bears as an art & craft activity. 
- Make teddy bear masks of different sizes and goldilocks.
- Plastic bowls/spoons and cutleries can be used instead of household items.

- time consuming to create the small felt pieces
Modifications:
- Teacher can print out pictures of characters in the story and ask children to colour and cut the pictures.

- Children can use this set of resources to work on their fine motor skills such as writing, colouring and cutting.
- Children can use their own creativity to colour and have each set on their own.
- This kit is easy for teachers as things only need to be printed out before the lesson.
- The sizes of each picture are clear for children to discriminate and compare concepts.
- Children are able to create their own story book using the cut-out crafts.
- Teacher can read to children the story and children can use the given items to retell the story and create their book accordingly.
Disadvantages:
- items are boring as it is only colouring and using paper.
- children might lose interest after colouring a few items.
Modifications:
- Teacher can plan lesson by dividing the craft activities instead of colouring the whole set.
- Eg. colouring and cutting the bears first for the first day.
- 2nd day: teacher can recap the story and ask children what did goldilocks do, which items did she try first?
- Children will recall the items e.g. bowls and then teacher will provide the 2nd resource for children to colour and cut.

1 wooden doll’s house figure
Disadvantages:
- It can be costly to create the sensory basket.
- Mini puppets, beds etc including the book need to be provided within the basket and needs to be bought online.
Modifications:
- Teacher can print out pictures of characters in the story and ask children to colour and cut the pictures.
- Teacher can create the Goldilocks and the 3 bears home using cardboard boxes instead of using a basket.

eg. sizes, first and last.
Modifications:
- different concepts can be taught using the story.
- different files can be created for different children.
- children can then exchange the files with friends.

- Song can be used to retell sequence of events and recalling.
- Puppets can be printed out from the PDF provided.
- Singing the song might interest children during the lesson.
- Items needed are just ice cream sticks and the printed puppets.
Disadvantages:
- Puppets can wear and tear after a while of usage.
- Not durable.
Modifications:
- teacher can create own puppets or ask children to create the puppets instead of printing them out.
