This Pact was a sort of alliance between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. It was made to make sure that Nazi Germany wouldn't be attacked by the Soviet Union, that Great Britain wouldn't join the war, and that the two countries could share Poland together. In this case, both Nazi Germany and the U.S.S.R both won, and it led to which country was on which team for WWII.

A month after the Nazi-Soviet Pact, Nazi Germany hit Poland with a powerful offensive to break down its defensive lines and take over that territory. Poland tried its best, but the German forces that were directed by Adolf Hitler won the battle and took over Poland. This was a key event because Nazi Germany had just taken over its first country and Great Britain and France declared war onto Germany.

It was a defensive line against the Germans where it contained forts, underground bunkers, and positions to defend against the German Nazis. However, France mostly focused on its border with Germany compared to the other countries they bordered on the East side, which Nazi Germany took advantage of and attacked France in the 1940s. The Germans "won" by breaking through this defense and taught militarizes to be more flexible with their movement and planning.

In September 1940, the German Luftwaffe (the German Air Force) started bomb raiding Britain from the sky, attacking key points to destroy lives, Britain's history, and Britain's confidence in winning the war. However, Britain's Royal Air Force and ground systems were able to maneuver throughout all of this and actually won against Germany. This was a major defeat that Nazi Germany had and there was improved confidence for Britain.

Nazi Germany went against the non-aggressive pact the made with the Soviet Union a few years earlier and attacked the Soviet Union. Adolf Hitler had been able to lead invasions with massive success, and he believe they would be able to invade the Soviet Union. It did not go well and the Soviet Union successfully defended themselves and Germany actually lost that invasion, another major loss for them.

When Hitler's army was attempting to invade the Soviet Union, they both fought for a city named Stalingrad (now called Volgograd) to gain or re-gain control. Eventually, the Soviet Union was able to surround one German army, attacking them and letting the German's resources dry. It led to the German army surrendering and a huge improvement in confidence. Hitler, suffering two losses by now, started losing control over the war which led to the downhill slope Nazi Germany had.
