Robert Nesta « Bob » Marley was a Jamaican singer-songwriter.

Bob was born the 6 February 1945 in Nine Mile, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica and he died the 11 May 1981 in Miami, Florida US. Marley died when he was 36 years old, it’s a very young age. 

The most important achievement of Bob is when he was considered one of the most influential musicians of all time.

He was became to a global and Jamaican symbole. He became that because of his song.

His mother is Cedella Booker and she had him at 18 years old. His father, Norval Sindair Marley is from England but he’s born in Jamaica. His father was employed as a plantation overseer. 

Bob grew up in Rhoden Hail near Nine Milles. He didn’t spend a lot of time with his father because he travel a lot. Marley went to Stepney Primary and Junior High School at Saint Ann.

When he was 10 years old his father died of a heart attack at the age of 70. After his father death, her mother married Edward Booker, an american civil servant. This relationship brought 2 americans brothers for Marley. 

Bob left Nine Mile with his mother when he was 12 and moved to Trench town.

After a few years Marley found himself in a vocal group with Neville Livingston is childhood friend in Nine Mile.

Bob Marley record his first song « Judge not » when he was 17 years old in 1962 but his song don’t have success, however Bob don’t give up and stand in the music.

In 1963 Bob joined a vocal group « The Wailers » and they obtain a contract with Studion One. One year later they recorded the song « Summer down » and it became number 1 song in Jamaica.

Because of this first success Bob left his job what was welder.

Bob Marley married Rita Anderson the 11 February 1966 and one day after he moved to the United State and join his mother. He found a job in an hotel but he doesn’t like the life in the USA so he decided after the summer to move again in Nine Mile.

Marley has very interest by the rastafari movement and he created with other guys the label « Wail’n Soul’m ». The type of musics of the band are more faster than what Bob normally song. The difference between the old song of Bob and the new is the rastafari touch. Unfortunately his new song didn’t sell a lot but in 1975 he recorded « No woman no cry » and it’s gonna be his first national success.

Bob announced that he had a cancer but even with that he continued to give his concert.

He did a concert in the Madison Square Garden, in Milan in front of 100'000 people. He did his last concert on the 23 september 1980 in Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh.

A few week after his health gonna be very bad and his concerts was cancelled.

He fought the cancer for 8 months and on his way back home his vitals got worse and he died on the 11 May 1981 in Miami, Florida.

Bob got eleven childs, 5 with Rita his wife and he adopted 2 others.

Marley didn’t have an easy life because of his father death or because of his many uncuccessful song but even that he fought and he found succes.

Personnaly, I like a lot Bob Marley because of his song and I think he is the king of the reagge.

Marley is a really important person because he introduced reagge and rastafari to the world.

Life was not easy when you grew up in a family with five children. When i was a child, did not like as other children can play together after school, i always try to help out my parents in terms of financial support to have a decent meal and having money to pay for our tuition fees. After graduating high school, i went to Ho Chi Minh city to study. Three year later, i have got a part time job in a souvenir shop before i graduated to get Information Technology diploma of TAFE SA. Then I changed to a new job in my specialty.

“Learning is never enough”. Besides working on date, i continued to apply for university transfer course for two years. And i got the Bachelor degree in Information Technology in 2010. My upbringing has completely supported my development and I am thankful for it. I quickly understood the importance of preparation, hard work, and respect.  I applied these values to my endeavours by making an inventory of resources, planning my activities for efficiency, working on my goals every single day, and giving my body the necessary rest it needed to operate. In 2012, i had a chance to Mandarin Chinese language and visit my oldest sister whom living in Taiwan. It is very difficult to my mother language, it does not use the alphabet for writing, so i had to study hard to finished three courses. Then i went back Viet Nam for my job in June 2013. After working as a Quality Control engineer for more than three years, i felt my English skills badly, i thought i need to improve it as soon as possible, so that i was here in Sydney, Australia. I will spend six months for my English course.

Zig Ziglar have said: “You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win”. I think i am on the road so i have to try on my best to become winner.
